Stomach Sleepers
When did you stop sleeping on your stomach?
I stopped at like 17wks with DS because it made me nervous but at 19wks, I'm still doing it and from what I've read online it seems to be OK for the baby and that its the back sleeping that can be a problem so I might not stop until I get so big that it's not comfortable anymore.

Honestly, I stopped right away, I was way too nervous. I went straight to sleeping on my sides.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
I stopped right away bc dh kept yelling at me and telling me I was squishing the baby. I had a horrible few weeks of sleep. Then I found out it was okay, as long I still felt comfortable. I probably slept on my tummy until about 15 weeks or so, then it just didn't feel comfortable anymore. I'm 28 weeks now ad I KNOW it wouldn't feel okay. I don't really sleep well anymore tho adn I just can't wait until I can finally sleep on my tummy again!! About 12 more weeks!!
I say do it until you feel it's okay!

I sleep on my stomach all the time. May I ask why it would be bad?

Re: Stomach Sleepers
After I started feeling flutters/kicks/thumps, I stopped because she always seemed to do it when I was on my stomach. I interpreted that to mean 'Hey, stop squishing me!' (which is probably ridiculous but just to be cautious).
I was able to sleep on my side with a body pillow until around 27 weeks and now I have to prop myself up a little with my back against the headboard with my pillow so I'm not flat on my back because side sleeping hurts too much.

I don't think it is bad at all, personally just a mental thing with me. After two losses, you become super cautious of everything. I always felt like I could smoosh my LO.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
my question is, if you are a stomach sleeper, how do you stop? Obviously, try not to lay on your stomach or fall asleep on your stomach but I ALWAYS wake up on my stomach ... at 24 weeks!
I dont lie 100% on my stomach, I usually have one leg bent which makes me roll a tiny bit onto my side but its mainly stomach sleeping.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
I think I was around 17 weeks or so. I didn't even mean too...sleeping on my side just became more comfy...plus I got the snoogle pillow at BRU and it makes sleeping so much easier.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
I'm 15 weeks (with #3, so probably a little bigger than those pregnant with their 1st) and it has become uncmfortable to sleep with complete pressure on my stomach. I feel pressure from my uterus. So now I sleep kinda on my side, kinda on my stomach and it is affecting my sleep already. I must have woken up 5 times last night out since I can't get comfortable.

I slept on my stomach my entire pregnancy. I never heard it was bad, just heard it would be uncomfortable. Never was for me though.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
I'm 20 weeks. I just started sleeping with the body pillow. For the most part, it keeps me on my side. I also find myself sort of on my stomach and sort of on my side.

Re: Stomach Sleepers
37 weeks 4 days - still sleeping on my stomach - but with one leg bent and my hand sort of tucked at my hip so I'm tilted - but that's how I slept on my stomach before pregs anyway! I could not fall asleep if I didn't go like that!

This is my problem, except I am a back sleeper and I don't know to stop! I have been trying for the past week and a half, but I keep waking up on my back. I don't know how you learn a new way to sleep!

I am 15 weeks on Thursday and I am still sleeping on my stomach---it is the only way I can get any sleep. I will continue to so unless my doctor says stop or until it becomes uncomfortable!
