luteal phase question.
This is my first month temping, and I may possibly be getting AF today with being either DPO11 or 12 today (not sure because I had the flu, and missed a temp on the day I may have ovulated.). So, those of you with short LF: 1. what are you doing for it besides the B-vitamins. and 2: how many months did it take to diagnose? and 3: how short was your LF that they diagnosed it as a defect?

Re: luteal phase question.
I noticed after keeping track of my cycles for 2 months that I had a LPD. Both cycles my LP was only 10 days. I mentioned it to my RE and he agreed that my LP was too short and they put me on Clomid to correct my LPD.
They really want to see your LP be at least 12 days.

Re: luteal phase question.
Since getting off the pill, my LP hasn't been longer than 10. Last cycle it was 9 and I started spotting 2 days earlier so not sure if that means it was breaking down even sooner. I've read that 10 can be okay--under is a problem. It sounds like you are fine. I'm going to dr tomorrow and will discuss. I've also switched to a b complex rather than B6 b/c I read you need the other B vitamins to absorb the 6. I should be in the 2WW tomorrow-let's hope it helped!

Re: luteal phase question.
With both my boys I only had an 11 day LP. That was years ago. With me TTC again I didn't chart until this past month, but knew when I was "O" and it was a few months of a 9 day LP. I don't spot at all before AF. The day I get her it's full force pretty much right away. No spotting involved. I brought it up to my doctor and she gave me a prescription and said to see what my LP is and then if it continues being only 9 days I can start Prometrium if I wanted to. So, I've been taking Prometrium for 2 cycles now and it made my LP 12 days. So that's working so far. But I still can't get PG! I also heard that 10 days is ok, but I wouldn't be comfortable with it because if you have a late implanter it doesn't give it enough time. Your lining will start breaking down before it had a chance. I'm VERY happy with a 12 day LP right now. I'm hoping it stays that way. Good luck!

Re: luteal phase question.
i do b-complex also. I'm going to have to be consistent this month though if I do get AF. It was so hard with having the flu because I had NO appetite, and was so bad with taking my vitamins during that time! temping though is so important...........i didn't realize it until this month. Caidensmommy: thank you so much for the info! I am praying for you hun! this website is so amazing because we learn so much from each other!

Re: luteal phase question.
I also tried B6 and B-complex and it didn't help. It did years ago by a day but not anymore.
