weight @ 3 months AND head circumfrence/percentile question

how much did/does you LO weigh at about 3 months? just curious


DD is a chubber and weighs 14lbs6oz, and is 24.5" long


im a little worried about her head circ. the ped wrote "39.5" on her card, so im assuming thats gotta be in cm. i looked up a calculator online for head circ./percentile and it put her at 33%. does anyone else know their LOs head circumfrence at this age?

DS has always been in the 95th - 97th percentile for head circ. 33 is good, don't worry

im already on high alert about her head bc it's getting flat. im worried that maybe thats why her head is on the smaller end of the scale. shes 65% for height and like 85% for weight its just worries me that shes all over the place like that

I have both of my DDs' books right here...

#1 was measured at 10 weeks and was 13lbs., 23 inches and had a head circ. of 40cm.

#2 at just under 3 mos was 15lbs 6oz, 24.5 inches and had a head circ. of 40.8cm.

I'm sure if it were an issue, you pediatrician would have said so.

I don't remember how much he was at that point but aside from right before he had his pyloric stenosis surgery (when he was losing weight) he's always been in the 95%+ percentiles for height and weight. He's going to have to shop at a big and tall shop when he's older. His head has also always been big. His ped was actually ever so slightly concerned at his 9 month appt as the measurement jumped a bit so instead of waiting to see him again at his 12 month visit which would be his next well visit, she wants to see him in 2 weeks (he'll be 10.5 months) to measure again. My long drawn out point is, that if your dr was concerned about her head being too big or too small she'd def say something.

With my DD my ped was very concerned about her head circ. They actually sent her to a neurologist about it. I walked in with her, he took one look at my head, measured it... and said DD was fine and that she took after her mommy.

At 3 months, Sasha was 23 1/2 inches, and 12lbs; 4oz. Her head was 38 1/4 cm.

She has always been in the low percentiles for head. I am not concerned since I have a small head, as does my mom-- so, it's just how the ladies are in my fam. I am confident in my brain size too

ds had a flat problem...... he was ALWAYS 90th percentile though

try the Boppy Noggin Nest to catch it early.

I don't remember exact numbers, but DS has ALWAYS been in the 90s% for height and weight, and his head has always been in the 30s%. Dr. said it was fine as long as it was increasing along the growth curve like it should, and it is.

My son is a big boy (90th percentile). At 10.5 weeks he was 14 pounds 6 ounces. Now, 2 weeks later he has to be well over 15 pounds bc he has even grown our of clothing since then.

Abby is and always was small. Sheis in the 10th percentile for head circumference. She is smack in the middle between the 5th and 10th for weight and 25-50th for length. The bottom line is whether they drop or increase percentiles. There has to be a range of sizes or every kid would be exactly the same.

At Ezra's 3 month appt he was 13lbs 10oz (55%)and 25.5 inches long (95% he is very long!) and his head circumference was 16 1/4 (50%). I'm sure if there was a problem your ped would have brought it up during your appt.

ds weighed 19.5 lbs at 3 months... he was 27.5 inches..... as for percetiles, as long as they all were about the same i didnt worry too much..

DS head has been 97% since birth. they are only concerned if there is a big change. at 3 months DS was 50% weight (probably because he has a huge head because he is really skinny) his height was 95%

I can't remember what DD weighed at 3 months but she's always been inthe 90-95 percentile for height and weight and only the 10th percentile for her head.

My girls are 12 weeks...and were a bit over 5 weeks early...but they are

10 lbs with a 38.1 head and 22 inches

and 9.4 lbs and 21 and 1/2 inches and 37.5 head.

At DS 3 month appt, he was 14lbs 9oz (90th percentile) & 25 3/4 in (97th percentile) His head circumference was 41.25cm (50th percentile)

DS was 15 lbs 6oz and 25 inches @ 3 months old. His head was just under 42cm..... he has a big head like his daddy

I do not have my exact numbers, they are down stairs in his baby book but DS has a peanut head! Amen for natural delivery with no time for any drugs! But his head was in like the 5th %tile at around three months. I think at 5 months he was 10 or 15%, which according to ped, is not a problem at all. He's growing in his own curve and that's fine. His head is catching up.

When I got home and read 5th percentile that time, I was like geez, you'd think his head would be the size of an apple compared to his body!!!! But there's nothing noticable about it. I think DS's head is perfect!

I guess my DS is a peanut. At his 3mo visit he was just shy of 13lbs. He is only in the 25th percentile for height, and 50th for head.
