Btdt Mothers regarding inductions

I am being induced Monday at 5:30pm..now my dh is asking me if he stays with me the whole night??? I am a first time mother and have really no clue what to tell him I know it takes time for the cervadil and pitocin to kick in did your dhs stay with you the whole night??, come back the next morning?? as you can see I am clueless

My DH stayed the whole time. You'll need company and support. It may not be the most fun for him, but why should you get to have all the fun?

Also, you never know if something changes in a second and he needs to be there immediately!

Not BTDT but, DH is planning on staying with me the whole time (he was with me at the Dr yesterday and the Dr made it seem like that was the norm).

I didn't have an induction, but from the birth stories i have read on here about inductions, the DHs usually stay the night. I think contractions can start anytime, and it can go really slow, or really fast, and moms need their support person around.

Your DH will stay with you until you give birth. They do not know how fast you'll progress, so they wouldn't want to send him home, then have to have him come racing back.

They will have a chair that reclines for him to stay overnight.

DH stayed with me. They had a cot set up for him when we arrived in L&D. You never know what the night will bring so it's better that DH is there.

I went in for my induction around 11 a.m. DS wasn't born until the following afternoon. DH stayed with me the whole time.

I went in at 7:30 am for an induction and didn't have DS till almost midnight.
Your DH should plan to stay the night and if things go quickly he can change his mind but he may want to anyway just because his newborn is there

I'm actually going in tonight at 9 and Dh is staying with me for the night...or I'll beat his assssssssssssssss lol. JK

He's staying. In the delivery room they have a chair for him-or whoever to stay the night.

My induction didn't start until after 11pm, so Good Sam actually sent hubby come to get some sleep since it usually takes awhile for things to get started. We had to summon him back by 9 the next morning because things moved faster than anticipated. We joke that if parking was really bad, he totally would have missed the birth!!

My husband didn't stay with me, mine took 3 long days, I didn't want him there the whole time, he needed to get home and get some rest. He only stayed when the action got tough! But its up to you!

yes, he stayed with me and was very glad i had a change of clothes and a toothbrush for him in the morning. bring snacks and drinks for him too b/c the cafeteria gets expensive. sleeping on those recliners was not fun for DH but neither were my tentanic contractions from the cervadil (until the stopped it and waited until the morning to do Pit).

DH stayed with me both nights. I was induced sunday night and didn't gave DD until tuesday morning. On Monday he ran home to shower and change is clothes but was back in an hour.

My SIL was induced and my brother stayed with her the entire time.

my dh stayed the entire time. I got the cervidl and that started me with really painful contractions. he wasn't going anywhere!!

i was induced at 7am and gave birth at 6:30 pm. DH was with me the whole time, except for when i got the EPI. they made him leave for that. (why i have no clue b/c he saw much worse the rest of the day..LOL)

he was also allowed to sleep in my room at nite too after recovery but he went home and came back early in the am.

The first time I was induced, I had cervadil and DH did not stay with me. The cervadil was started on Sunday night and I gave birth Tuesday night-DH did not stay either night. We only live about 20 minutes from the hospital so he could have gotten there pretty quickly if needed.

The second time I was induced I didn't need cervadil, they started Pitocin at 8 am and I gave birth 9:58 PM. He didn't stay that night (went home to be with DD since she couldn't come to the hospital).

Yes, her should definitly stay there the whole night. They give you the cervidil for 12 hours and hope that in the middle of it you start dilating and contracting regurally and go into labor so the cervadil alone can make you go into labor. Then they give you the pitocin.
I wasn't one of the lucky ones where the cervadil worked but the pitocin did and i was soo glad my hubby was there the whole time. He was a great help!
