Plan for BFP??

Does anyone have a "game plan" for once they get a BFP??

I feel like im so focused on TTC that if i actually got a BFP -- I'd just look at DH and say "Now what"??Chat Icon

Is anyone reading up on pregnancy books or have a "to do" list?? Just curious what everyone else is doing??Chat Icon

Re: Plan for BFP??

I plan to run to Borders and get "What to expect while expecting" to keep my wandering mind busy! hehe. Then I know me, I'd definitely start looking up Baby Room ideas. Well, I can't lie, I sort have already done that, but I stop myself..if I got a BFP..there'd be no stopping me!!

Of course, the very first thing though would be to go to the doctor to confirm, then start telling family.

Re: Plan for BFP??

It's funny, when I was TTC the first time I had all these ideas in my head of how I was going to tell everyone and it was all going to be so fantastic and creative and then......................when I got my pregnant with my DD and I saw the VERY faint line come up I nearly cr@pped a brick Chat Icon Chat Icon and dragged my DH out of bed and all I could say was, "Uh......you need to look at this. Are you seeing what I am seeing? OMG!!!! OMG!!!!". I was shocked to be staring at 2 lines!!

Then, we agreed to not say anything until we knew for sure. That night we were taking both sets of parents to see Howie Mandel. The whole time through dinner and while we're waiting for the show to start I was going crazy ready to burst. Finally, like 15 min. before the show starts I turn to my parents and say, "I ummm.........I am pretty sure I am pregnant". My DH looks at me and rolls his eyes. I told him to tell his parents. I couldn't hold it in!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon The next morning we called our siblings and then after that I was really good!!!.............I didn't tell any other family until I was about 9 weeks along and then I told work at about 12 weeks.

Anyway, long story short.......my creativity went out the window because I was more excited then a kid on Xmas morning and I have a big mouth and can't hold anything in!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

--------------------

As as aside..........for those of you first timers. When I was pregnant I read about my pregnancy CONSTANTLY!! My favorite books were:

1) Great Expectations: All in One Resource for Pregnancy and Childbirth

2) Your Pregnancy Week by Week

3) The Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy

4) Watch Me Grow: A 3D Look At Your Baby's Development Week by Week (LOVED this little book - 3D images of what your baby looks like every single week of its development!!)

5) The Pregnancy Countdown Book

6) What to Expect When You're Expecting

I also LOVED the National Geographic DVD, "In The Womb". I thought it was pretty cool to be able to see what was going on in there all those months of development. They also have a book to go along with it that I liked too!!

And in case you are wondering.................YES!!.....I absolutely read EVERY SINGLE one of these books cover to cover!! I couldn't get enough when I was pregnant!! I was obsessed!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Plan for BFP??

Oh I think about things all the time. I am a huge planner so I've thought just about everything out. Once we get a BFP my friend has "What to Expect" waiting for me. We'll also need to find a bigger place and then I know exactly how I want to decorate the nursery. It's an illness I have.Chat Icon

Re: Plan for BFP??

I want to run to babies r us and buy a cute baby shirt to show DH. I would also love to tell our families by putting a "I am going to be a big brother" on our dogChat Icon

But I feel like what Hofstra26 said... as soon as I see a BFP, all of this will probably go out the window and Im going to run around the house like a little kid. When I got my first smiley I was jumping up and down and couldnt even hold it in LOL!!!! That was only a smiley face so I can just imagine how I am going to react once I get my BFP lolChat Icon

This was my plan: run out to a sports store and buy a NY Rangers baby item. wrap it up and present it to DH.

Reality: Ran out of the bathroom screaming: WHAT THE EFF IS THIS? WHAT THE EFF IS THIS?! **** DO YOU SEE THAT LINE?!

and DH responding with: NO, its too light, its too far apart, its not the right color

TEST AGAIN!

BUT I DONT HAVE TO PEE!

HERE, DRINK THIS NOW!

NOOOOOO! IT DOESNT WORK THAT WAY!

I AM GOING TO GET MORE TESTS AND YOU BETTER HAVE TO PEE WHEN I GET BACK!

OKAY!!!!!!

By the time I tested again that evening, and we were pretty sure it was a positive, we both just collapsed on the couch exhausted.
