OPKs
I'm getting different directions on when to use them.
The box recommends using them in the AM.
Fertility Friend stated I should take them mid-morning because "LH rise usually begins in the early morning while you are sleeping and it takes 4-6 hours for it to appear in your urine after that. For this reason, first morning urine may not give the best result. Testing mid-day is usually recommended. It is important to follow the instructions of your OPK for maximum results."
When is the best time? I took one at 6am this morning and it stated I was not ovulating, so I wanted to ask.

Re: OPKs
I take mine at 4:00 pm because I heard that you get your surge in the afternoon.

I do the same... I'm really beginning to hate OPKs... they are so frustrating and inconsistent. I wish I had more advice to you, all you're getting out of me is whining

Re: OPKs
Different OPKs have different instructions. If the ones you bought say to test using FMU, then that's what I'd do.

Re: OPKs
I would go by the directions on the box that you bought because it depends on the OPK. I believe it's the CBE fertility monitor (could be wrong) that is specifically supposed to be used with FMU. Most other OPKs are supposed to be used in the afternoon. I've also read that you should test twice a day - once in the early part and once int he late part - because the LH surge can be so short that you could miss it by testing at just one time of day.
I got a positive OPK Sunday afternoon around 4:30pm. I then got another positive Monday morning around 7:15am. When I tested again Monday around 5:45pm the test was aaalmost positive. I actually had a hard time deciphering if it was still positive or negative.
