and I hate to break it to you...it doesnt get any easier!! Now its "when are you guys having another one?" AND MY all time favorite............"when are you gonna have a little girl"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could you imagine? So when you figure out how to stop people please let me know!!!!

I know how you feel.
I keep getting "When are you going to give X a cousin??"
My SIL is pregnant with her first and he will be the first grandchild. The kid isn't even born yet and I'm the one being pressured  . That was a new one.

I'm sorry and I know exactly how you feel. I've found that sometimes you just have to say something back just to shut them up. I've had to say "We'd love to have kids and hopefully one day we will but it's just not that easy, " That seemed to shut up my one aunt for a little while. Good luck

Hang in there. I know how you feel. I honestly don't want to go crazy on someone one day and just blurt out, "we've been trying to freaking jerk!" LOL (that's putting it nicely!)

to be honest with you, i have had some pretty nasty comebacks
my parents would NEVER ask us this question, but coworkers and others are SO inappropriate and i have put them in their place several times.

After getting AF the other day, I complained to DH that I don't want to go to holiday party coming up because I don't want anyone asking.
How do you respond? It's a touchy subject. When it comes up with people that know, I immediately well up (and I am NOT a crier). I'm ready to yell "WE'RE TRYING, It's not that easy!" That's sure to shut people up.

If it make you feel any better, our families KNOW that we're trying and peole still offer dumb comments and "helpful" tips. I retaliate with sarcasm and everyone shuts up.
"You will love the holidays when you have kids around"
My Answer: Only if you're making the holidays. Then the kids can trash your house instead of mine!
"Maybe next year we will have some little ones during the holidays"
My Answer: Oh, are you guys getting a pet?
"Did someone say the 'K' word?"
My Answer: Cookies? Where?!?

Ugh tell me about it--it was the talk of my family party this weekend. I wanted to yell, excuse me, but my LP has been too short and I need to find out why, so this may take a while. I know they all mean well and are just excited, but it's like holy pressure!

I am sorry that you are going through this
I absolutely hate it when people ask - it is not their business and what makes it worse is if you have been trying and are having a difficult time
I tend to give nasty remarks and people have learned not to ask anymore!!
DH's cousins ask all the time - oh when are we going to have babies around - I tell them to start trying if they want them that bad
I also have comments from the rest of the peanut gallery and I tell them when they want to take care of and provide for these kids I will consider having them.
Nobody in our family knows that we are TTC - I can only imagine the comments that would come about if they knew

Im dreading this too!! Normally my response is "Im waiitng for you" and I laugh but now im getting more pi**ed off at the question.
I think i will try saying "Why do you want to know?" I think MOST people will get the hint....

all our friends have kids- we are pretty much last- at least with dh's friends
so one asked me a while back, I looked at his kid and told him, I hate kids- he laughed- he knew I was lying but all the same he hasnt asked again
