acronyms

Hi, I'm fairly new to this forum. usually i post on relationships, pets and family oh and career at times.

i am "thinking" about ttc so have been lurking a bit. now i'm brave enough to come into the open (yikes! does this mean i've decided??? who knows?!)

anyway, i am thoroughly confused by many of the acronyms here. can someone help me? such as AF? why don't we want AF? and any others i need to know?

Welcome to the dark side!! Don't feel silly it takes a little getting used to. AF stands for Aunt Flow (your period). As for all the others under the Chat tab on the green bar at the top of your screen there is a link in the pull down menu that says Chat Lingo. It's like a LIF dictionary!

Common you will see on TTC are:

AF - Aunt Flo
CBEFM - Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor
FRER - First Response Early Result (preg test)
HPT - Home Pregnancy Test
LP - Luteal Phase
CD - Cycle Day
EWCM - Egg White Cervical Mucous
CM - Cervial Mucous
BD - Baby Dance (s-e-x)

Welcome!! Hey, I lurked here for like a year before actually TTC. I got quite an education on here - but it made starting TTC easier because I knew so much more about my body. Definitely pick up 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' at your library or bookstore.

yikes i think i'm freaking out now. just a bit. maybe i should lurk some more before ttc. is it just me or is it so scary?? maybe that's a sign i'm not ready. it seems like everyone is super excited and involved at this stage, not scared and freaked out. ahh!
