HELP! My dog thinks a Christmas treei inside mean she can relieve herself inside too!
Anyone else experience this? We have 2 dogs, but one of them, we've only had since April, so she's never dealt with the Christmas tree thing before. We set up the tree late Saturday night, and yesterday she peed AND pooped on the floor right next to the tree! She's been fully housetrained for MONTHS! Anyone else run into this problem? Any suggestions?? TIA!

No, we haven't. But I'd think if she had enough in her to pee and poop in the house, she may need to go out for walks more often. As with regular housebreaking, praise her for going outside. If she's regressing because a tree is in the house and the temptation is too much, you have to go back to the beginning I think. Good luck!

Funny! my neighbor just told me she can't have a real tree cause her dog pees on it! and to be honest my little dog who never has accidents peed on the living room rug where she smelled the pine needles that fell on the floor. it must be the scent or something!

My big dog goes outside to pee and hasn't had a problem with our tree, but the chihuahua goes on a wee-wee pad in the bathroom and our first Christmas with her, she thought the tree skirt was a wee-wee pad... what a disaster, we would discover it over time since we didn't always see it, I must have thrown out five tree skirts in one year.
So now, I haven't had your problem exactly but understand how you feel!!

i would keep her away from the tree. block that room or put a baby gate around the tree when you can't supervise her.
