ugggh the worst! If there's any 24 hour store near you call and see if they have clove oil. Soak a cotton balll in it an place it over your tooth. And take the strongest pain meds you can get, advil/motrin/aleve, whatever works for you!!!! I have had some baaad dental pain recently; a cold glass of milk helps (temporarily) for me too.

It tastes completely disgusting but it really did help me. I don't know if you'll get it in a drugstore, I really hope you can!!! I got it at GNC. Any chance you live in Astoria, I could bring you my bottle!!!

Re: any overnight remedies for a tooth ache?
Feel better. Whiskey is a temporary fix. Put some on a q-tip or if you want to feel better all over drink the bottle.

Re: any overnight remedies for a tooth ache?
You can try peppermint extract on a q-tip, and don't lay flat. Keep your head elevated if you can. Laying flat will increase the blood flow in your head and cause your tooth to hurt more. Here are some other tips I found: Cow Parsnip Seed Tincture - 5 drops or so of this tincture can be very helpful for relieving the pain of some toothaches, if the problem is near surface. Wisdom tooth pain relief comes most effectively from a narcotic such as codiene, hydrocodone, or oxycodone. Most manufacturers combine the use of over-the-counter analgesics with narcotics to achieve more effective pain relief. Ice offers excellent numbing properties. Hold the ice around affected area and try to compress it there. Most often, the pain gets reduced as it is excellent in suppressing pain at nerve endings. Get cucumber from any vegetable stores, cut it into thicker slices. Hold these pieces on and around the tooth that is paining and it will start working to give soothing effect. If cucumber is refrigerated, it is better as its very chillness acts as catalyst to its soothing effect. Place a small stack of dried peppermint leaves around the aching tooth for 15 minutes and then spit out. Repeat this procedure10 to 15 times a day. Peppermint acts in a dual way. First, it brings the abscess to the upper surface if there any and then acts as pain killer. Among the most effective home remedies for toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will make the cure teeth making it strong and healthy.
Toothaches are the absolute worst. I hope that one of these remedies or one anyone else offers can give you some relief!

If you can get to CVS or another place, get Percogesic. It's basically tylenol, but it has something call an adjuvant in it that makes the effects of it even stronger. Put it this way, after my c-section, instead of taking my percocet when I got home from the hospital, I took Percogesic because it worked better! That and anbesol on the tooth. That worked like a charm for me when I needed to get into the dentist, but couldn't

Try wetting a tea-bag with warm water and putting it in the area that hurts. You can bite on it. It should help!
