Not intentionally-- but it did happen a few times at Home Depot when we were re-doing our house.
DH and I would pile the cart with different things and items would get shoved under other items that we nor the cashier didn't see--and we'd walk out with the stuff.
We never go back in

I did, but through a 3rd party. I was terrified of getting caught, so this kid in my HS who did not have a car would work out a deal with you. If you drove him to the mall, he would get you two items. He did get caught once, but his dad was the sheriff.

I used to when I was little. Nothing much, but now my son does it without either of us knowing it and he's only 2! He'll put something beside him in the cart at a store and either he's sitting on it or next to it and I don't see it. He's done it twice in Toys R' Us! 
Do you go back with him and take the toy back to the store? And if you don't take back, do you not give him the toy for him to play? If you are doing neither of these things, you are reinforcing his behavior inadvartentely to keep doing it.

I stole a candy from a grocery store ONCE when I was about 12 with a friend...I put it in my waistband and as I was walking out it slid down my pants leg and out the cuff onto the floor  No one saw and that was the end of my shoplifting days!!

I did, in sixth grade. My friend and I got caught. To this day I am still mortified about it. Very few people know- in fact, DH only found out a few months ago.

Never. My friends used to, and I would get SO mad. I used to threaten to tell the store manager. We must have been like 14 years old or something. However, I always had money because I would babysit and work around the house, so I never needed to steal when I was that young. I know it's not about the money for most kids, but still, I was never into it.

yup, once when i was i think 12 my friend and i stole a couple of little baby's from the dollhouse stand at shoppers village. she had them on the counter in a basket and when she wasn't looking we took 2 and stuffed them in our socks. We were so scared we were going to get caught, we kept looking for cameras.
we wanted them for babies for our barbies! i'm dying while i write this.
