Deanna's Plan - Is This Right?

I wanted to try "Deanna's Plan" this month even though its our first month trying ... it sounded like it gave us a good shot at success.

I have short cycles (approx 24 days), and I *think* that I O on CD 11. I just started temping consistantly so I'm not 100% sure.

I'm pretty sure I saw some EWCM yesterday which would be CD 9 ... so it seems like I might be on target to O when I thought I would.

So, here's what I've come up with for a plan for when to BD:

CD 6 (check)
CD 8 (check)
CD 10
CD 11
CD 12

Does that sound right to you????

UPDATED:
Thanks to LB & Heather, I think this will be our plan for the month:

CD 6 (check)
CD 8 (check)
CD 10 (check)
CD 11
CD 12
CD 14

Re: Deanna's Plan - Is This Right?

I would modify it just a bit - keep in mind that the important part is to BD when you see the EWCM because THAT is what is going to help the sperm live the longest so that they are around when the egg drops.

For most people it is better to BD before you O, not after, but you also need to cover your bases in case you O late and don't realize it. Sperm live for 2-5 days, but eggs only live for 12-24 hours, so the sperm need to be there first!

For you, I would BD the first night you see EWCM, and the next two nights after that. Then skip on night and BD one last time. So in your case I would do CD 9, 10, 11, and 13.

ETA: Obviously there is nothing "wrong" with your plan, I'm just saying how I would do it. And keep in mind that this time around I only BD once during O time (2 days before, since I know when I O) and I got pregnant, but I owe that to the Mucinex I took to thin out my CM. Chat Icon

Re: Deanna's Plan - Is This Right?

Thanks for the suggestions, LB!

That means there's still time to BD most of the days you mentioned (10, 11, 13).

Not sure it would have mattered if we had planned to BD yesterday anyway, I was soooo exhausted that we came home from visiting with family at 10pm and I slept straight through until 11:30am today! Chat Icon

Re: Deanna's Plan - Is This Right?

the plan says to BD starting CD 8, every other day until you get + OPK. If you don't plan to use OPKs than Deanna s plan isn't for you, JMO. Other wise, BD for 3 straight days once you get + OPK, take a day off then BD one more day. I got PG on Deannas Plan the 1st month I used it & as PP said BD prior to O is most important. Thanks Heather! Chat Icon

I'm going to probably start with OPKs next month.

But I was feeling confused about WHEN to BD, so I thought I'd use a modified version of DP based on when FF, etc are suggesting that I would O.

Today is the "suggested day" and we've BD'ed 3 days over the past 5.
