Destination Maternity vent

I love the demi panel pants from the Gap and they got me through the entire 9 mos with DS but the stalker sales woman at Destination Maternity pressured me into buying these secret fit belly pants that I told her I already knew I hated. Well now I put them on and they're the most ill-fitting, uncomfortable pants ever (and only cost $80)

Did anybody else have a stalker experience at the new Destination Maternity in Carle Place? I HATE when salespeople follow me around and I all but told her to leave me alone and let me look and she just continued to be annoying. Then there's the whole, do you want 2 free months of Parenting (so your CC can be charged when you forget to cancel since you have preggo brain)? Maybe I'm just a grump but I won't be going back there except to try to return these stupid pants

I cant stand that either!! WHy must they follow you like that!! FIrst they say " Can I help you" you tell them No thanks, but they continue to follow or harass you!! I usaully just walk out of the store because i get so mad.

I don't go to the one in CP but, I have a stalker at mine as well.

I realized that a small Macy's in my area carries the same stuff for the most part and you can shop in peace so I've been going there.

I personally find the secret fit belly pants comfy but, they don't stay up well so I have to use my BeBand with them (still, at 37 weeks!)

They are also like that at Pea in a Pod in Manhasset...so ANNOYING!!

i never set foot in that store, I went once never again!!! I go to the outlet one in source, gap maternity, old navy, anywhere but there!

Yes, and it is not just that Destination Maternity-it is every one country wide. I am in South Florida and I now make a habit of going in just to touch stuff and tell the women who work there I don't actually want anything except to use your bathroom, which gets them. I do this on the way to the Gap

I went to the one in Huntington, I was looking for a dress. They were actually very helpful even when I told her I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress I would only get to wear once. I am so happy that I got lucky!!! I hate feeling pressured!

There is one by me in Boca Raton and since they were annoying me, I told them to get me a whole bunch of stuff to try on, had them wait there and then 5 minutes later, I told them I don't want anything.

I totally agree with you! I LOVE my demi panel Gap pants and have 3 pairs - all the colors available! I wound up buying 2 pairs of "secret fit" - one with a jacket because I needed a suit, and I HATE them. They are uncomfortable, fall down, and make me look like I have a saggy butt

Plus, I am not a fan of the stalker sales associates!!

OMG!! The same exact stalking went on when I was there. I seriously ended up being a ***** to them after the fourth time. It was insane! I will never go into that store again for that reason. I told everyone about what happened. It was unbelievable!!

I had the opposite experience there. They left me alone which I was thankful for until I got to the fitting room and needed different sizes. I was literally the only one in the store and I kept peeking out for someone to help me...nada....then when I was checking out the girl was soooo unfriendly. I guess I will stick to the one on 110.

In general, I dislike the store bc of their crappy return policy, but if you order online its a 45 day return policy. So weird!

This happened to me at the Huntington one. I finally had to snap at the woman and say "Listen, I'm on my lunch break and I really just wanted to browse" when she gave me an attitude, I told her I would be contacting the corporate office to complain since they had done this to a friend of mine as well, she left me alone the rest of the time I was in there. I've never gone back though and never will again. If I see something motherhood or pea in the pod I like, I get it at Macys. For me though Old Navy and Gap have the best most comfortable stuff.

I was there last week and pretty sure I had the same woman stalk me! I thought she was pretty sad! She was trying to talk to DS and it seemed like she had no idea how to interact with children. she kept pulling things off the racks for me. I just kept telling her "no thanks." I actually expected her to try and get me to buy more expensive things but she seemed like she was really trying to help. I did walk out with nothing though. I refused to buy something I didn't need.
Did you already throw out the tags? if you don't like the pants, go back and at least get store credit. Maybe you can use it to buy tees and lounge pants that you can use later in your pregnancy or even after.

I had the same experience at the Huntington one a few years ago when PG with DS. I have no desire to go to any of the Destination Maternity stores now because I just want to shop and don't want to be harrassed. Destination, Pea in a Pod, Mimi Maternity, and Motherhood are all owned by the same company. I found the Motherhood in the Broadway Mall to be nice and the salesperson very helpful and not pushy.

The destination near me is the opposite. I went to the pentagon mall near me in DC, and they we not helpful at all. I needed help trying to find bras that would fit. I left upset and with nothing. The pea in a pod was the same. They didn't even say hello when I walked in the store. I had to have DH reach for things that were placed really high. They didn't even offer to help.

My friend just had that problem at the Carle Place one. I must have gone on a busy day because they didn't bother me too much. I hate when they do that.

When this happens to my friend in any store, she turns to them and says "You're being very aggressive and you've just lost my business" and then she leaves the store.

i didnt have a stalker experience, but i HATE that store! i was there the other day because my sister got me stuff for my birthday, and i had to exchange.... their return policy is absolutely Ridiculous. i went, and i will Never go back

I have only been to one in Manhassett but had the same experience & they also love to watch you try things one.
I was like leave me alone & purposely didn't buy anything.

& I was so looking forward to going to Carle Place. Not anymore. I completely forgot how annoying those places were.

I've gone to that store 3 times now, since it opened, and they are SO stalkerish!! The thing that I REALLY didn't like is that after they greeted me when I first came in, and asked me if I needed any help finding anything, and I said no, the woman asked me for my name!! CREEPY. Last time I was there, she came back to me like 10 minutes later and was like "I'm sorry, I forgot your name." I felt like being like- then why did you ask me for my name if you weren't even going to listen when I told you!!

Mine totally fall down too and I am so annoyed. When you try them on in the 2x2 fitting rooms you can move around in them to notice. I put them on about 3 weeks after I bought then and was walking around the house and had to change bc they kept falling down!
