Hamburger - would you eat?

I have had hamburger in the fridge for 3 days. The first day it was frozen but thawed out the past two.

Would you eat it at this point or toss it out?

(pregnancy related - since a preggo is the one who would be eating it Chat Icon )

Yea, it's raw hamburger. I was going to make tacos the other day but I couldn't stand to look at it.

Do you remember how long you waited to freeze it before the expiration date? If you froze it right away, I'd think it was OK.

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

I think it is totally fine. I always get grossed out and nervous too and end up throwing away perfectly good food.

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

I wouldnt eat it. It may be fine but I am paranoid. 3 days is a long time though if it was already frozen.

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

I don't throw out food easily- DH has a strong smell so if he approves it, we eat it. I have let meat thaw for a week in the firdge (in the colder meat draw) before eating it- never had an issue.

Yep, I agree.

I have a very strong sense of odor, and I would prob smell it first.
I don't' know about a week, but if its only been a few days, just cook thoroughly and it should be fine.

Beef lasts much longer than chicken does. I wouldn't risk it with chicken.

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

I would say smell it but I know I could not do that right now without getting sick. Maybe have DH smell it. If it's iffy just toss it .

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

Did you have it out of the fridge? If not, considering it was frozen for a whole day, it will be fine.

Re: Hamburger - would you eat?

I would throw it out-one day of thawing, tps. It's not worth making yourself crazy over it-or the risk... Chat Icon

I'm sure it's fine but I wanted DH to smell it / cook it and he won't be home for dinner tonight. I gag everytime I look at it.

I think DC and I will be going to Chipotle instead.
