First baby fever.. question for you.

So Liam (6 months) had 100.5 at day care today.. which they NEVER called me about and then NEVER mentioned to me when I picked him up. It was written on his little daily log sheet.. But, I can't even get into that! So MAD!

So it is now 99.9. The doctor told me not to treat it until or if it gets to 102.3. So fine, but, tonight if he is cranky and crying like he was last night.. would you feed him? He is weaned off his night feeding. Or bring him to bed with you? Obviously no daycare tomorrow.. not they seemed to care about it.

p.s. I feel sooo guilty that he was crying last night and I continued with the Ferber method. Poor little guy was getting sick and I didn't know it. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I hope Liam gets better soon. Shame on that daycare!

I have no experience with this yet, but my feeling is that I would feed him. I know when I am sick, I need to eat when I need to eat, or I feel sicker. Plus he probably needs to stay hydrated to help keep the fever down. But like I said, I haven't dealt with this yet, so I may be wrong.

Re: First baby fever.. question for you.

I know for me... when Chloe has a cold or is sick I am a little looser. I have let her come into bed or fed her more often. Im not sure if it's the right thing to do, but it works for us. She is 9 months old now and it has only happened twice. She went right back to normal the following night.

I hope he feels better soon! Sorry your day-care didn't let you knowChat Icon
