Chewing on hand (fist)....
So KJ will chew on his hands / fists alot, even after he just ate (So I know it is not a sign of hunger)
I know sometimes this can be a sign of teething but he is only 7 weeks
miki started teething at 10 weeks so I guess it is not that far fetched - what else could this be from?
soothing technique? sucking his hand instead of his thumb maybe?

Re: Chewing on hand (fist)....
DS started around 8 weeks with his fists in his mouth. His 1st tooth is just starting to come in now & he's 6 1/2 months old.

Liam did this early too. He did cut his first tooth at 10-12 weeks so its possible.
My DS's hands are still in his mouth at 9 mos. LOL

Re: Chewing on hand (fist)....
could be soothing. DD would suck on her hand or her wrist to soothe. Even now when she has trouble getting herself to sleep when she's overtired she will suck on her fist or wrist.

As the other posters said... it's soothing. A lot of Mason' sono's he was sucking his thumb. Funny thing is he never found his thumb since being in my belly He loves his paci now so I use that when he's chewing on his fist. Yes... I've seen him stick his whole fist in his mouth

I say soothing-some babies just like to suck and gnaw.

Re: Chewing on hand (fist)....
soothing, teething, it really could be any of these things. Are you sure he is still not hungry for more? As for teething, according to my mother in law, my son was teething when he was three days old even though he did not get a single tooth until after his first birthday. Actually, it could just be a developmental thing in that your DS has discovered his hands and he is using his mouth to figure them out.
