Counting Cycle Days
Just wondering, if you normally spot before AF comes full force, how many of you count the spotting as CD 1 and how many of you count CD 1 when AF comes full on?
I count CD 1 when AF comes full force b/c I normally have brownish spotting 1-2 days before.

I usually get the spotting too. I used to count that as Day 1 but I have since heard that it's really when you get "blood" that is Day 1 so that's what I count now.

I spot too before AF and I start counting CD1 as soon as I see red blood.

i have always wondered this too. but i started seeing an RE a couple months ago and she told me that CD 1 is the 1st day of actual "flow"

This is what I was told also. CD1 is the first day you need a pad/tampon. Spotting (at least the kind I get) is usually really light so it doesn't count.

Its not so much about the color; it's the quantity that matters. If I need a tampon, it's CD1.

Its not so much about the color; it's the quantity that matters. If I need a tampon, it's CD1.
Oh okay, thank you for clearing that up for me because it was starting to confuse me
