Prayers for a friend
I have a friend who was 23wks pregnant and was hospitalized 2 weeks ago because she was 2cm dilated, leaking fluid, and her amniotic sac was bulging slightly. They admitted her and had her on complete bed rest for about a week with the hopes that the sac would go back in so that they could close her cervix. Unfortunately, her water ended up breaking and they performed a c-section. They weren't able to cut her horizontally and ended up cutting her vertically. The baby was 1lb 6oz and was immediately place in the NICU unit. The hospital she's in has a Level 3 which is good. As of now the baby is doing well, but she has a very long road ahead of her.
On top of that, my friend ended up getting Strep B and they couldn't determine where it was coming from. She's allergic to antibiotics and the few they were using weren't doing anything for her. She wasn't allowed to see her daughter due to her having fever. As of yesterday they re-opened her c-section incision because it turned out the wound was where the infection was. She said they only used morphine and she felt everything. They closed her up and said they were sending her home today and would have a nurse come out daily to change her dressings.
I work for a well known hospital and spoke with a few people from the NICU unit and was told while the hospital she is in has a good NICU unit, if she wanted to transfer her daughter, she could - once she's stable (which she is).
This is her first child, and unfortunately she had to have this kind of experience and I feel so bad for her. There is nothing anyone can say, we can only pray that the baby makes it. She understands the situation, but has placed all of of her faith in god and is hoping for the best.
I'm asking for prayers - since they are powerful.

I think the hospital is taking the attitude of "we need the bed" and that's why they are sending her home. I could be wrong, but given the fact she's been there since the 7th it's hard not to think that way.
Thanks so much for your prayers!!! It really means a lot. Baby Mia has a long way to go.
