Does anyone know this RE???????????

I think I'm out... spotting last night and this morning and my FRER came up negative (AF due 10/23)

So sad - I thought this was my month - it was our first month showing an egg on the CBEFM

Anyway... by gyno (Dr. O'Keefe - StonyBrook) recommended Dr. Spelling.. I think he is part of Reproductive Specialists of NY.

Just wanted to see if anyone uses/used him and has any feedback.

I know of him but I didn't use him at all. I went to Reproductive Specialists of NY (Stony Brook office) and I LOVED them! I saw Dr. San Roman. Started in Sept. 2007 and was pregnant in 4 months. The only doctor there I didn't care for AT ALL was Kristen Cain. I thought she was cold and didn't bother taking the time to explain anything to you. Other than her I was happy there and I highly recommend them. We just started back there this past Sept. to TTC #2.

Dr. Stelling.
Yes, I see him. He is very smart and known to be aggressive. Just be aware that you will see ALL of the doctors in the practice.

I just made my appointment for the WI office with Dr. Halsen. He is going to do my initial b/c Dr. Stelling isn't available until 10/27 which is too far down the line. They said then I can switch to Dr. Stelling in the Stony Brook office after that.

Does that sound OK?

Also, they said the first test is bloodword and a sono - crazy question - I am going to be heavy into my period then... is teh sono internal or external - internal would be nasty during Af!

Yes, internal sonogram during AF! Everyone gets them so don't be embarrassed.
I am personally not a fan of Dr. Halfen. Good luck with the consult. Let us know how it goes.

hofstra... i once saw dr cain when i thought i was gonna ttc a couple years ago and i couldnt agree more with what you said.... just thought i would put my 2 cents in :) thought i was the only one who felt that way ...geesh! lol

I went there to the Stony Brook office. My main Dr. was Dr. San Roman, but I saw Dr. Stelling and Dr. Cain often.
Dr. Cain may seem a little cold, but she is very smart and knows her stuff. When I expressed my concerns to her about a clotting disorder after my miscarriage, she agreed to do the bloodwork, even though it is usually only done after 2-3 miscarriages.
She is also the one who performed both my IUIs and she was always really nice during them (and I got pregnant both times.) She was also the dr. who was there when I was miscarrying and she was very good to me then as well.

ETA: yes, you will always have an internal sono and bw done on CD3.

Thanks for the info.

I know you are saying CD3... but being that today is my spotting day and tomorrow will probably be my first heavy day - that puts Friday (the day of my appointment) on CD4... depending on what you count as cd1.

Do you think that matters?

I'm sorry if I am annoying... but I just gotta ask lol
