I don't know if anything I sing 'soothes' her (nothing soothes this kid- she's on full adrenaline ) but I'm concerned I sing TOO much to the point that she's desensitized to music.
I like to sing "My Girl" not just because of the obvious, but because it really is my favorite song of all time. I basically sing any song that pops into my head that relates to what we're doing. Lots of Broadway tunes. It kinda disturbs me how I have a song for everything!

Alex knows a lot of the lyrics now & it cracks people up when they hear her singing these songs.

Edelweiss from "The Sound of Music" is her favorite. It almost always stops her from crying within seconds. I started singing it to her after I saw her respond to a music box playing it when she was only 5 weeks old (she's almost 8 months old now... ).

DD loves the Facts of Life theme song, and Boom Boom Pow, but her favorite is Pink's "So What"...she is obsessed with it for months now. She also requests Lady Gaga.
