digital test....

is it true that these take longer to detect a BFP?

someone told me not to use them when i mentioned what test i was using anduse the "normal" line ones

Everyone is different. It basically depends on when implantation takes place.

With my last son, I didn't get a BFP on a digital until 14dpo, but the regular tests at 9dpo. I'm pretty sure implantation took place between 7-8dpo.

With my first son, they didn't even have digital tests!

yeah, I think so. I don't think the digitals are as sensitive. I know for me personally, I got a positive on a regular HPT, but continued to get negatives on the digitals until maybe 3 days later. I, personally, wouldn't use a digital unless either I've already gotten a BFP on another test or if it's the actual DAY AF is due.

digitals usually are not as sensitive as the line tests. So it might take longer to get a positive.

For example. I got a faint positive at 8DPO on a line test. Then I took about 34754785 more line tests, all positive. I took a digital that same night and came up negative.
Took a good 2 days for it to say "pregnant"

I know the CBE digitals get a lot of false positives too. Maybe you can't detect QUITE as early with them by like a day. I know I got a BFN with a line test on day 11 and day 12 I got a BFP with the digital. I'd wait until you miss AF anyway, testing early does no one any favors.

I don't think it's necessarily true that they're less sensitive. I buy both too and have compared the charts on the box that tells you the accuracy percentages...they're pretty much the same. Plus, for my last pregnancy, I tested verrrrrry faintly positive on a line test three days before AF (which I believe was 9dpo) and took a digital that afternoon...BINGO!
