When did you get your DD a small table and chairs?

I see children's tables and chairs all over the place and was wondering at what age do most parents get them for their kids. This Christmas, my DD will be 1. Is that too early?

Yes - it's too early IMO

DS just got one for his second birthday. That seems to be a perfect age for it.

I think DS was at least 18 mos. He'd been in daycare full time, and used to table/chairs.

Lily got little personal chairs at 1 year and a table with chairs at 2 years.

We bought a table and chair fro my DS when he was 21 months.

We just got DS one for his 2nd birthday last month, and I think its just the right age for it. He can pull the chairs out, push them back in, move the table if he wants, climb onto and off the chairs. Plus he gets that its his table for snacks or coloring, etc.

The set behind her in this photo was mine as a child. I've seen a few like this in antique and second hand stores.

We set it up for her at about 20 months.

I got Ale's when I put the nursery together. She's been using them since she was about 9 months so I would say go for it.

I was thinking of getting DD a small table in chairs for her 2nd birthday (April). This Christmas we got her the Step2 Kitchen and the Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair.

Our neighbors bought a set for Chris when he turned one--I thought it was too early then. But my 18 months he was using it a lot--he sits there and colorss and plays and sometimes has meals there too

1 is too young, we're looking for one for DS now, he's almost 2. But I can't find them anywhere! Where are you seeing them?

I know DS could not sit on a chair unassisted at 1, and he also would not sit for much time at all. We did get him one of those little couches when he was a little older, though he used it minimally until recently.

My DS got a picnic table at 18 months, he LOVES it , uses it everyday, sits there all the time, and still has not made its way putside in 6 months since. Every kid is different, but my DS absolutely loves things his size.

DS is 13 months. I am getting him a table and chair set because the one he has at daycare he loves.
ETS: he can climb up and sit on the chair all by himself. He also likes to roll cars on the table and I would rather him do that there than my coffee table!

I don't think it's too early. I mean, she may not get a TON of use of out if right away, but she will before you know it! We got DD her table and chairs when she was 1 1/2 and she loved them right away!

I got DD hers for her 3rd bday. That was probably a little late IMO. I say 2 is a good age. I do think 1 is a little early IMO...
