smells
I walked into my house yesterday after work and I nearly puked as soon as I walked in the door, I swear, I smell something and it reminds me of the way milk tastes right before it goes bad DH says he doesnt smell anything but it is SOO overwhelming, I gag with every deep breath through my nose
Is this normal? Does anyone else smell "smells" that maybe arent there? I know there is no sour milk anywhere (i thought maybe a cereal bowl was left somewhere), I searched the house up and down to see if either my cat or dog got sick and I cant find anything. The garbage is clean in the kitchen and bathrooms ... I cannot take it. .. yack ..

Re: smells
I find that I am much more sensitive to smells (especially cigarette smoke )
Maybe it was just a lingering odor from the garbage that was just taken out, or from the dishes that were just done
Open all the windows and light a candle
Feel better!

Re: smells
O wow I had this TOO, big time!!!! DH swore I was losing my marbles, and that commute to NYC was And I never threw up either, just nauseous from the phantom smells. Here's what I did: I started carrying a bar of fragranced soap (lavender or lilac were great) and when something offended I would just sniff that to clear my nose, it really helped!!!!!

Re: smells
We are at the same point and I am also very very sensitive to smells. Makes riding the train lots of fun. Everyone's body smells, perfumes, "aromas" in the street. They all make me gag.

When I was pregnant I lived in Charleston down the block from a horse stable and the smell of sewage can srise there because everything is built on very low lying land. Ugh it was the worst. Good thing I didn't suffer too badly with ms

Re: smells
YES!!!
I was smelling something for weeks. I couldn't stand it! I cleaned a little, made DH clean, it was driving me so crazy, I hired a cleaning service to do deep cleaning in our kitchen.
I felt it was seeping out of our wood cabinets, I couldn't explain it, and I don't know what magic they did, but they found it and killed it.
Either that or my hormones finally leveled off or something.
ETA:
and while food smells where bad, the worst for me was toothpaste. I ran crying from DH when he tried to kiss me with a minty fresh mouth.

In my first tri I threw out almost everything in the fridge. I couldn't handle super markets at all. It was really bad.

OMG - supermarkets were the death of me for the first 8 weeks. There were several times I left a full cart of groceries and had to run out to get some fresh air before I hurled in aisle 7.

Re: smells
I could have written that post, probably still can. I was screaming at DH that something stunk in the kitchen and he was looking at me like I had 10 heads. Worst is when he is not on top of the litter box. Or even worse, when he leaves the outdoor garbage uncovered!

Me too! Cigarette smoke is the worst . I also have a problem with the way onions smell when they are cooking, and that used to be a smell I loved.
