teachers question about maternity leave
If you have a baby right at the end of school (june) does ur 6 weeks count in the summer or does september into oct count for the 6 weeks???

I am pretty sure that you can take the first 6 weeks of the school year as maternity. I am pretty sure that is how my district works. Not sure about all though. If not you can take FMLA for 12 weeks.

if I remember correctly, with DD, the six (or eight) weeks is from delivery. It comes in a note from your doctor and is based on the date of delivery. Now, FMLA only counts during school times. So, DD was born in late June. I used a week or two then and the rest during Sept. and Oct. (maybe it even ran into Nov....I think it did).

thank u...this would b perfect for me...I have enough days and then get paid throughout the summer...if i have to take additional time in sept it would b ideal.
I pray that this month is it for us!!!
