friable cervix and placenta previa

So I went to the Dr. TWICE yesterday bc of bleeding...luckily it was what they call a friable cervix. I'm 15 wks. It's very sensitive and bleeds on contact. When I strained to go to the bahroom (TMI< sorry) something hit the cervix. It was really scary but she assured me that it has nothing to do with the baby and the baby is caused no harm.

Have any of you had this?

I also have almost placenta previa...my placenta is almost covering my cervix. She is hoping that it will move as my uterus grows..hope so. Has this happened to any of you?

TIA ladies

Chat Icon trust the doc when they say you'll be fine

I can't say I know for sure, but it sounds something my mom said she had carrying me. She bled a lot during the pregnancy. And didn't really have a "break water" before labor, she said she just bled a lot. No complications, no meds, natural birth, and 15 hours of labor.

hey I just wanted to say try not to worry too much. I know a couple of girls from my Whattoexpect.com board (sept 09) with both conditions and they welcomed the cutest babies this month :) Just listen to your Doc :)

Re: friable cervix and placenta previa

I had complete previa and still occasionally bleed. There were a few clots too. But I am 27 weeks and 4 days and everything moved (though I still at times pass the clots) but everything is fine!

Re: friable cervix and placenta previa

I had bleeding episides at 17, 18 and 19 weeks. Scared me to death.

I was diagnosed with a complete previa and I still have it. I am 35 weeks tomorrow and doing great. Haven't bled since week 19 and have not yet been put on bedrest. They want to deliver me early and I have an amnio at week 36 to check her lung function. They will schedule my c-section based on that.
