So I have decided to start temping
I started yesterday morning at 6 am (which is the time I wake up during the week). My thermometer says it saved your last temp. Which it did yesterday morning but not today. I am so ****** off. Does anyone know if this is going to throw off my whole chart?
Now I am going to have to actually get out of bed, even on the weekends, to check the temp without waking my husband.

I'am new to this whole tempting thing. But I hope you figure it out cause having to wake up on the weekends stinks if you don't have to. Good luck

I just started temping and noticed this too!! It saved it the first time but when I went back to double check it went to the "default temp". I think it may only save it for you to look at once? I bought the CVS brand BBT thermometer. I decided to just put paper next to the bed and scribble down the temp and then go back to sleep (on the weekend when I don't have to get up early). lol.

Re: So I have decided to start temping
I put my thermometer and chart right next to my bed. My RE said that in order to get the most accurate temp, I should just take it in bed. HTH.

Re: So I have decided to start temping
You should take your temp every morning before you get out of bed. Getting up and walking around will affect your temp.
I would put a pad of paper and a pen at the side of your bed so you can jot it down and go back to sleep.

Re: So I have decided to start temping
Thank you. Yes, I know I have to take it in bed, but I will have to get out of bed to check the thermometer reading. I don't want to turn the light on and wake my DH.
Who ever thought getting pregnant would be this hard!!

Re: So I have decided to start temping
I know its pricey but: I am not a morning person at all!! I started temping and decided that I would go with what is easiest and what would let me g right back to sleep. I bought the Optimus Petit Sophia Fertility Monitor. Its a digital BBT with an alarm and it stores up to 6 mos. worth of temps, tracks patterns and alerts you to possible pregnancy, health concerns, etc.
So far so good. Ony issue- it was $89.99 on Amazon

Re: So I have decided to start temping
can you buy a thermometer that has a backlight? that way you can see the temp, record it and go back to bed.
either that or use a small flashlight.

Mine saves the temp - I have to hold down the button for like 3-5 secs in order to see the saved temp. Might yours be like that, too?

Mine is like this too, digital BBT from CVS. It is a PITA sometimes though where it will jump to the default temp first. I have to turn it off and turn it back on, holding down the button to get my real saved temp. Maybe that is the case with yours too. Play around with it for a bit first and see if that works.
Missing one temp won't throw off your whole chart.

Re: So I have decided to start temping
mine also only saves the temp once. when you turn it on to read it if you dont catch what it saved its gone forever.
i always wake up a lot in the morning and go back to bed so i have to temp early to get the "after 3 hours sleep" criteria. i usually wake up, temp, and if i am going back to sleep i dont look at the thermometer again until i turn on the light and get out of bed. once you get into a rhythm it gets easier.
