Is your e-ring from a jeweler or a store?
Does anyone mind sharing where their SO got their e-ring? My boyfriend wants me to try some on just to get a sense of what we like..and I don't even know where to start! LOL

DH had a friend who's father in law worked in the diamond district, so thats where he bought it...but we went to a bunch of jewelry stores to get an idea first about what I liked.
BTW, I saw your bf yesterday at the town hall, and today again at the mass. I meant to call you to see if you guys had gotten engaged.

Jewerly store.
I love my ring, would not exchange it and dont' regret my decision at the time but if I had known more at the time I would have gone to the diamond district in the City. I probably would have gotten a bigger ring and maybe better quality for same $$

DH and i went to several jewelry stores in the area and i searched online to get an idea what i liked and of prices. in the end we wound up getting it through a recommended jeweler who works in the diamond district, but also has a store on LI and that is where we met him. we almost went through one of the jewelry stores, but really liked the jeweler.

For the smaller stores, most of the owners are jewelers so I am not sure I understand the question. My ring is designed by Ritani and we got it from Bailey Banks and Biddle. I got it when Ritani was only sold at BBB and Fortunoff and a few places in other parts of the country. They now sell in more places. BBB always had a jeweler on staff. I know of some local jewelers/stores that are very trustworthy but they didn't carry Ritani and I didn't like the knockoffs. DH may have bought from them if we did not have a specific ring in mind. We shopped together but I was never really sure if I was getting the exact style that we both fell in love with.

A custom ring maker, Elsa's. I wanted a Jeff Cooper but was crazy $$$, so I down loaded the pic and got mine made to look like that design!

He bought the diamond overseas...but the setting is from a jeweler in the city who i also got my wedding band from. He also repaired two heirloom pieces for my wedding. LOVE him & his stuff...he specializes in antique styles & replicas.

We went to Fortunoff's for me to try on rings to get an idea of what size stone looked best on my hand and what we both liked.
When he was ready to buy it he went to a jeweler to have it made the way he wanted. He wasn't happy with the outcome but he gave it to me and had another one being made (setting). I wore that one for a year but he still didn't like it and the I really didn't either because the stone on the sides were a lot bigger than the original setting he gave me. 5 months before our wedding we went to Christian Bernard and bought my setting (solitare now) and have been very happy with it.

my Dh went to his friends uncle in Chinatown, designed the ring and picked out the stone.
You should try the jewlers on 47th street. Lots to look at and you can get an idea what you like.

Thanks Girls!
We are going next week, I will try on a few and see what looks best. When I look online I feel like so many are pretty, it is hard to choose. Hopefully when I try it on things like the shape and setting will be clear which one is for me.

A jeweler. My best friend's DH recommended her to my DH, and he recommended her to my brother and his brother when they were getting engaged.
