Car seat inspection and DH is in TROUBLE!!!
To understand this story, you need to know that one of the big issues between me and DH is the huge piles of mail that he has all over the kitchen and computer room that I am not supposed to touch because he "still wants to go through everything."
What does this have to do with the car seat inspection? Well, it turned out that when I went for the inspection, our registration had expired. Stupid me never noticed that it was up or the renewal form at home in one of DH's piles of mail.

Did you know that the police are not allowed to let someone drive with an expired registration? Since my DH is away in Texas on a business trip, I didn't have a ride home. So the safety officer let me go in the station to try to renew it over the phone.
After 45 minutes on hold with motor vehicles and never getting a live operator, and with the baby in the bjorn trying to eat the phone cord  and smiling at himself in the two way mirror (wonder who was on the other side...) and me bouncing all over the place to keep him from fussing, they let me use the computer and renew it online. Even though the clearance didn't hit the database by the time I was finished (this was why they wanted me to try the live operator first), the officer ended up letting me drive home. Otherwise, I would have had to put the baby in the stroller and walk.
Ladies, DH and I will be having a little discussion when he returns from his trip. Meanwhile, check your registration BEFORE you have the car seat inspected.
Sorry so long, and thank you for letting me vent!
PS The car seat only needed some minor tightening.
