"Most women ovulate over the weekend"

Just thought I'd share this little tidbit my doc shared with me. He told me this when I was trying for #1, and just told me again today. According to him, "Don't get a headache over the weekend." Chat Icon

No idea of how true it is, but figured I'd share the idea with you all. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

i dont know, I kind of think that the weekend is less stressful, more relaxing so might aide in ovulation. We do know that stress can hinder O'ing so I think that a less stressful environment might not hinder Chat Icon

if it works for you, go with it Chat Icon

Um, yes he did.

He is basing it on years of experience of having thousands of OB patients.

He and I are not idiots and are both well aware of how a woman's cycle works.

I was also thinking along these lines. I think about TTC a lot more on weekends too since I have more free time. Chat Icon

its weird cause this cycle it looks like my body geared up to O around CD12 which was a friday or saturday and then i didnt end up Oing. but then i most likely did O on CD19 which was the following weekend... maybe the stress thing does make sense for Oing on the weekend lol....
hey whatever its more convenient for BD for many of us anywayChat Icon

Sorry but I don't believe that.

There are 7 days in a week and we are supposed to believe that most women ovulate over 2 days?

The week is a man made concept yet somehow the biology that runs our bodies knows to sync with Sat/Sun and not Wed/Thur?

I'll be honest - when I first read the OP, I was thinking something similar. It totally had me chuckling, but you know what? I think it makes sense like mentioned above - since stress can delay ovulation and a lot of women feel more stress during workdays (either at work or with commuting etc) so maybe there is something to it! I mean, he has the experience of years of patients so he had one up on lil old me that just started reading up about it!

ETA: I must add though, that women should really keep in tune to their own individual cycles to establish when THEY ovulate so as to not miss their fertile window!

I seemed to ALWAYS o on our weekend to work opposite shifts.....it does sound weird, but sometimes the weirdest things are true!!!!!!! I don't think anybody was meaning to sound rude, but it does sound odd....that's all!

Re: "Most women ovulate over the weekend"

I must be part of the "weird' cases. I got PG with DS during the week.

I still ovulate mostly during the week.
