Question about a 2+ yr old's bathroom frequency. TIA
Troy has add on/off issues since he was an infant. But lately he's only been having a bowel movement every 3-4 days. And when he does, it's painful for him and sometime I need to assist him (gross, sorry).
We had discussed this with his Ped in the past (~5 mos ago) and agreed that giving him baby food prunes 1x a day seemed to help. Not anymore.
We have an appt on Sat w/ the Ped, but I wanted to see how off "average" he is.
TIA
Oh, he has a pretty good diet- not too fussy of an eater. And he is 2 yrs 3 mos

Re: Question about a 2+ yr old's bathroom frequency. TIA
DS will be 2 in a few weeks. He goes at least once a day - sometimes twice (but, they will equal to one ). Every once in a while he has an issue and skips a day - maybe once a month at the most and then it is always troublesome for him.
I have to admit though I am very careful with his diet b/c I notice the things that lead to constipation. He drinks ALOT of water during the day and I also give him about 2.5 oz of organic prune juice per day mixed in with his water. In addition, he eats alot of fruit and veggies.
Maybe try to alter his diet and get him more liquids and that will help? I know the times when DS has had trouble going have made me feel awful so sending you lots of

Thanks!! He is a good drinker- not too much though. He doesn't get alot of juice and he LOVES water. I have been watching his diet too, trying not to give him things that are too binding. He too loves fruits and SOME veggies. I just hope it's nothing.

I would give him a little bit of juice during the day, maybe with lunch. Try pear juice. See if that helps. It works with DS.

Jack goes at least two times a day. Always in the morning and usually in the late afternoon also. He eats a ton of fruits though all day long.

Noah goes twice a a day, sometimes even 3 times a day...
I dont think he has ever gone a day without going...he drinks a lot of milk and juice though.
Good luck at the Dr's!
