really upset today...

ive been trying to post allll day but i was SO busy at work i didnt have time...

anyway this morning i temp'ed expecting it to be high cause i was so sure i o'ed two days ago. got a + OPK and everything.... well anyway this morning i got my lowest temp this entire cycle it was like weirdly low - and my sleep pattern wasnt abnormal - i actually slept really straight through the night and was absolutely exhausted when i fell asleep.
sooo it looks like there is a good chance that i have PCOS since i read that OPK don't necessarily work when you PCOS and that false readings are common cause you can surge in order to O and then not O...

im just so disappointed even though i know its still possible to O this cycle (im only on CD13) but i just feel like my body keeps trying to and it's just not working out.

to add insult to injury i broke out like ALL over my back and shoulders today which hasnt happened since i was a teenager (yet another PCOS sign)...

i just never saw this coming and im down about it...

If you suspect you have PCOS, make an appointment with your doctor. You CAN get pregnant if you have PCOS - you may need some help, so just go see your doctor to confirm.

my doc half told me i had it after i didnt get AF for 80 days following coming off BCP. i did a blood test but it was on like CD73 so i think thats why they didnt confirm a diagnoses. she told me to chart and see if i am ovulating first. so thats what im doing but so far its not looking good although there is time for that to change so im still sorta hopeful (or naive - whatever you want to call it ).

i had just changed docs too and im not sure what to do next - wait another two weeks and go to the same ob/gyn, go to a different one, do i need an RE if i dont O on my own..?? just not sure where to start...

How frustrating!!! Did you change doctors because you were not happy with your past one? If so, go to the new doctor and explain what has been going on. Hopefully there is something they can do now.

I'm sorry this is so frustrating for you! I remember when you posted about first going off the pill, it seems so resent! But I know for you it must feel like ages at this point


I'm sorry I have no advice since I will likely be in a similar boat coming off my pill soon, but I just wanted to offer some and support... and know that it IS still recent that you came off the pill!! Maybe your body just needs some more time to regulate. Hang in there...

Sometimes you will get a temperature dip on the day of ovulation, plus you are only on CD13 so I wouldn't give up hope yet. I have been charting for a long time and last month my temp rose on the third day after the +OPK when it normally rises on the second day after the +. Hang in there and give it a few more days.

I was also going to say that sometimes your temp drops really low the day before O. What was your temperature today?

I have PCOS. It's not the worst thing in the world. While I have been trying for over a year I am finally getting to a plan that will work for us. When you think about all the things that could be wrong PCOS is the most treatable. If you read the infertility board some of these poor women are on thousands of medications and have been trying for a VERY long time.

I understand that hearing something is wrong is upsetting, but things could be so much worse! And you could look at it this way... with PCOS you will have the monitoring and testing that people who don't have PCOS do not have access to and you will know more about what's going on than most of the people around you!

How long have you been off the pill??

I had the same problem as you, crazy temps, sometimes Oing sometimes not. Long and short cycles.

For me, I feel like my body just took long to regulate intself after coming off the pill. After having DD and not going back on the pill my cycles are now consistently 28-30 days. I got BFP with DD after 10 months of being off the pill. 6 of those months actively TTC. Don't be discouraged. It could just be that your body needs some time, which is frustrating, but not a long term problem.

I don't know anything about temping, but I can tell you that this month, I broke out on my chest and shoulders. I'm off the pill since May, so I just chalked it up to fluctuating hormones, so it might not be related to PCOS for you.

Please don't get discouraged!Even if it's confirmed that you have PCOS, as other posters have said you can still get pregnant (I know many that have!!)! Just take things one day at a time. It's so wonderful that you are on top of things so you can get whatever help you need ASAP to get that baby in your belly!

Have a pity party whenever you want...that's why we're all here together!

PS...do you think the breakout may be caused by going off the pill? I never had acne in my life, but since going off the pill I've had some breakouts on my face. Thank goodness I didn't stop BCP the month before the wedding like I wanted to!! lol...

First off

Secondly, I would get a definite diagnosis from a doctor whether you have PCOS or not. Its not helping the process or benefiting you at all emotionally to be worrying whether or not you have it; you will drive yourself crazy.

Like PP said, you can still get PG with PCOS. I would get some answers for sure and then chart a course from there.

thanks everyone for the advice and . i really needed it!!

im feeling a lot better today. and the one thing i do have going for me is that my CM pattern is still moving towards Oing in a few days...no EWCM yet but a steady progression... so im hopeful it's just early...just that darn + OPK got me all excited, otherwise i wouldnt have even felt bad!

anyway thanks again everyone. i think im going to see if i can get an appt with a new doc or my doc soon and see exactly whats going on.

Just this week I got a +OPK and the next day my temp dropped to 96.6! I was ! It took 2 days for my temp to rise..and by rise I mean only get to 97.2.

Everybody's body is different & its a great start that you are paying attention, taking care of yourself, and seeking medical advice.
