Those who plan on working to the end and are almost at the end!

Are you reconsidering!? I have 3 weeks left and am really uncomfortable at work, sitting bothers me, standing bothers me...laying down seems to be my happiest moments! I am reconsidering going to the bitter end and maybe stopping by the 17th if I don't go on my own, what's the longest I could go late a week if that?? What is everyone else doing?

I would love to stop working now but I really want to stick it out til the end so I can have as much time off PAID with as I can (I only get whatever vaca & sick time I have saved up - the rest is unpaid FMLA). I'm SO tired today and it's just so uncomfy sitting at a desk all day... I know how you feel!

If I don't go before my due date (the 16th) I plan to definitely work til Fri the 14th. Then i'll see from there and take it day by day. I'm lucky that my job/boss is so flexible.

Im only 25 weeks wed and Im ready to be on Maternity leave!!! I dont' know how you girls are doing it!!!

i am 26 weeks and was hoping to work till the very end, now i am thinking maybe i will stop about 7-10 days b4 my due date

I am right there with you. I have 3 weeks left & really wish I could stop working today. I am so uncomfy at my desk & my feet are really swelling. Plus today is the first day of "real" contractions, so I am hopin I am going early. I want to stick it out as much as I can though bc I want to spend more time at home when the baby is here.

I will reconsider working from home some days though or even coming in later. Getting up in the am is really rough for me

It's def. rough and I want to stick it out but part of me just doesn't have it in me. I am going to talk to my job and see if maybe the month paid vacation I have for maternity leave they will consider doing as my first part of my leave instead of the last. At least I know by November DH will get a vacation check from his job and we will be ok and than if I have to I will extend my maternity for a week or so when I am ready to come back unpaid? My brain is working OT trying to think of a way!

I planned on going to the end, but Im starting to reconsider.

I'm 33 weeks and commuting into the city is starting to get old real fast.


I might take 2 weeks off prior, but we'll see. I'm going to TRY to keep getting up and going.

Today I'm exhausted, my feet are soo swollen and my back is hurting.

im 38 weeks - still working BUT i work for my dad and his office is next door to my house, so i dont have a commute but i am just soo tired and sick of everything - but i will be here till the end bc im not going to sit home and do nothing

I have 3 weeks left and plan on sticking it out until the end. The only way I wont come in is by doctor's orders. So far so good though (knock on wood).

I want to save as much of my time off for after the baby is here.

I'm getting in to work 30 min to 1 hour late every day. My dept isn't too thrilled with me, but it's either that or I take a sick day. Coming in later is the only reason why I can get through the day.

I've been working through lunch and staying late every day, and I take my laptop and work home with me, so it more than evens out. I'm salary, so it doesn't matter how much I work, I still get paid the same amount.

I stopped working at almost 38wks, my last day was 7/24. I was just too big and uncomfortable and my OB recommended I stop working. It was definitely worth it because it was hard for me to walk even from the parking lot to my office and I have no energy during the day. I'm just getting impatient waiting for to get here!

I had planned to work until the end, but i stopped last week (at 38w4d) b/c i just couldn't do it anymore. I'm on my feet for over 12 hours at work, and it just wasn't working- between my feet being swollen to the point that i didnt think my skin could stretch anymore to the shooting pain in my groin- i decided it was time to cut my losses and walk away Now, i'm just that she's not super late, b/c i hate sitting at home thinking about the time its taking away from her after she's born (i only get 12 weeks, so this is cutting into it). You have to do what you're comfortable with, though. Trust me, i was all about working up until the very last minute (hoping to go into labor at work and just walk upstairs to L&D and deliver ) but you have to think about your health too- don't push yourself needlessly if you can avoid it!

I was one of those who said I am working until the very end , last week was my last .... I was uncomfortable and my DH encouraged me to stay home and get everything ready for the baby .

I had originally thought I would work until the end, but DH didn't want me commuting into the city and walking/taking the bus across town from Penn a week before my due date.

So with 2 weeks left, my last day is this friday!!! I am really hoping to even make it to Friday, and I would really like to make it through the work week so that I have as much paid time off as possible.

I have my 38 week appt tomorrow so I might re-evaluate tomorrow.

I literally worked til the end with my first dd. I worked that Friday and gave birth on Saturday, I was 4 weeks early.
I want to work til the end with 2nd baby but I'll be 36 weeks on Wednesday and I can't take it anymore. I am reconsidering or just hoping this baby comes early too. I'm going to try my best to make it in here. For the sake I'd rather get paid when I'm home on leave with my girls. I will only have 3 1/2 weeks of full pay then about 4 wks of 1/2 pay. If I plan to take any additional time it will be no pay!!!

ha totally! I think I've been complaining all morning about this today! You totally read my mind! I plan on working until 1 week before my due date but I do have some vacation days planned. I might stick a few more in if I can! As of now, I have a total of 9 more work days! I feel like I can barely walk now! I take the LIRR into Penn and this morning I was walking so slow because it was uncomfortable and I starting thinking...how many more days of this?
