MIL vent - lunch ideas for 1 year old
My MIL is very "concerned" that I gave my DD Boars Head turkey. She said there is too many preservatives...etc....other than organic grilled chicken which she has sugg. 100 times, what other lunch ideas do you have for your DC?
I have tried Grilled Cheese and Pizza and she is eh over them...

You can get organic lunch meat at stores like Whole Foods. They don't have all the nitrates in them.
What about Annies Organic Mac n Cheese Almond butter on bread Hummus on bread or crackers Avocado spread in a tortilla

Re: MIL vent - lunch ideas for 1 year old
I don't think there is anything wrong with giving her the turkey. When my DD was 1 I used to ask for them to slice it thick and I'd cut it up into cubes for her and also give her cubed up cheese. I also would get the low sodium ham and cut that up for her as well.
Monkeybrides ideas are really good too if she'll eat it. I don't know if my DD would, but I'm going to try those things now since I'm pretty much at a loss for lunch ideas as well.

We dont use organic food in our house. Boars Head is fine if you are comfortable with it.

I second that...
Are you as a family going to go totally "organic"? If not then dont worry about a small slice of turkey that MIL has to complain about...

DD's diet most days consists of fruit, veggies, cheese, yogurt, eggs, pasta and bread.
What does your DD like to eat?

Well she likes grapes, cheese, chicken, some turkey cold cuts and my chicken meatballs.
Oh and for snacks she loves goldfish and animal crackers.
She also loves doritos Mommy's girl for sure!

Re: MIL vent - lunch ideas for 1 year old
i forget, does your MIL come to your house or do you drop jules off at her house?
Honestly i wouldn't worry about it too much. If it bothers your MIL that much, tell her she's more than welcome to buy all the organic foods for her.

She doesn't watch DD (TG)!
She was just commenting after a visit to our house. She called DH and said "I am so upset and worried...DH said why, what happened"? She said I saw Karen feeding Jules coldcuts and I am so worried about her eating them, yadda, yadda, yadda....

And just curious, what did your MIL feed her son at this age?
Well we feed jacen coldcuts. He loves them. I'm not worried. So if you're not worried, then i'd let go in one ear and out the other. There will be plenty of other comments from her i'm sure and some you have to take with a grain of salt. Whatever you feel comfortable with.

Pretty much to leave it alone, she is fine, etc...although I think DH does agree with her
