Re: Who here charts/temps?
I haven't started temping but I keep track of my cycles on that "my monthly cycles" site. Wpuld you mind sharing how it is that you are supposed to temp? I'm new at all of this.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
basically you take your temp every morning when you wake up with a basal body temp thermometer. then you record the temp on a chart (i use the one on fertilityfriends.com but there are a lot of sites that offer free charting). in a "regular" cycle you would have a series of lower temps from your period til you ovulate, then after you ovulate you would see all higher temps (for the most part) til either you get AF again or you are preg in which case your temps would always stay high.
by charting the temps along with your CM you can have a fairly good idea of when you ovulate and therefore when to BD with the best chances of getting PG.
theres a lot more to it then that, you can read up about it online or buy the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility which is the most thorough explanation.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
I do! I started after taking a women's health class in college, and reading taking charge of your fertility. I agree I think it is something that she be taught very early on. There are so many women TTC who would also benefit from being educated on it. I have done so for about 3 or 4 years now to not get pregnant. It works very well. My gyno did not seem to approve as much when I was younger, I think she didn't understand which method I was using. Good luck charting.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
I agree! I was thinking that if I have a daughter, I'll teach her how to do this too. I guess most women just get pregnant and don't have to worry about things like charting. Charting also gets a bit of a bad reputation as a birth control method because its not exactly foolproof.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
Unfortunately I have found way too difficult this time around. I did chart/temp when TTCing for my DS. I will say that I learned so much about my cycles, that this time around, I really know what my body is doing when, even without the temperature (and you can always follow the CM). It's really a great tool for learning about your body and I recommend TCOF to anyone that I can- when the conversation comes up that is I agree with the PPs, I really wish that they taught more of this in school.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
I do! I don't take it as "seriously" as I could/should, but my chart still shows what it needs to.
I found when I was setting my alarm and being fanatical about it, it was completely stressing me out (losing sleep, etc. ). It's much easier now that I've taken a more relaxed approach (temp whenever I get up, regardless of time, took a break when I went on vaca, etc).

Re: Who here charts/temps?
i just started this month to see if im Oing or not. i dont do it exactly the same time, but usually within an hour. i thought it was weird that 3 out of the five days my temps were exactly the same.
but overall im not stressed about it at all. i actually get excited by it cause of all that it should help my learn about my cycle.

Re: Who here charts/temps?
I charted my temp for 3 years. After I had DD, I just track my CM. I was amazed at what I learned after reading TCOYF and wished I had read it sooner.
What is even better with this method is when we were ready to TTC, we got pg on our first cycle of trying-both times!

Re: Who here charts/temps?
I temped the first time around. This time I will not be because I think I drove myself crazy with it. I think the only time you NEED to is if you have crazy irregular cycles.
