digital vs. regular
Lately I've just been taking the regular old 'line search' tests. I recently bought myself a pack of digitals though. I test next week and was wondering if there's a reason why everybody always seems to take the 'line' test first and THEN only if there's a faint line, take the digital. Is it just because the digital is more expensive so it should be saved? I'm just trying to figure out which test to do next week... probably doesn't even matter tho, huh? Either one will do the job

Re: digital vs. regular
I THINK because there's no guessing with the digital so it confirms a little more strongly for some who get a faint line. Why then wouldn't they just buy the digital in the first place, I'm not sure. Then again, many woman here like to buy dollar store tests and POAS daily...so maybe that's why.
Now that you've pointed it out though, thinking back it is almost comical how everyone posts about a faint line and going to buy the digital the next day and retest. Though I also believe that MAYBE the digital aren't as sensitive as the line tests so that you might get a + on the line test and need to wait a day or so and get a + on the digital.
I'm not an expert, I am just basing all of this on observation.

Re: digital vs. regular
I always thought it was because the digitals are more $ and many girls on here buy the Dollar Tree tests because they POAS a lot. I stocked up on digitals when Target had them on sale so I plan on using those until I'm down to a couple and then going to the Dollar Tree to stock up on tests, saving the digitals for a BFP.

Re: digital vs. regular
The extra couple of dollars are totally worth the digitals for me. There is no question what it says...it is what it is. My head would go nuts searching for even the faintest line...So now that I will be back here...the digitals worked for me once and I think I'll stick w/ them for the next time!

Re: digital vs. regular
i just did the regular lines test first b/c A) they were cheaper and b) they are more sensitive and usually measure a lower HCG level than digitals.
For example with this pregnancy, I got a BFP at 8DPO, i was getting faint lines on all my tests and Not PRegnant on the digitals. It wasn't until almost 10DPO did it say "pregnant"

Re: digital vs. regular
I like the lines because I knew when I was getting close and the darker the line, the closer I was to Oing. Then it would fade. So we BD'd every other day from faint line to dark to faint line again. That's how I got preggers with #1.

Re: digital vs. regular
it's the word "Pregnant"!
there is just no doubting that.
the dollar tree tests are perfect for those of us obsessed with POAS
but once you see that line, there is something about wanting it "confirmed" on a digital - you can trick yourself into seeing a line but not a word!
i will say, however, that i will NEVER take a digital without seeing a line first.
i took one once, just to see, and the words "Not Pregnant" was worse than any blank line test i ever saw.

Re: digital vs. regular
Well I just recently did this, and this was my rationale in my head lol. I used a first response first, got a faint line. I then used a digital, because those say pregnant, not pregnant so there is no guessing like is this line just an evap line or just too light etc...
I had both in the house, so I didn't go out and buy them the following day, but I knew that if I saw a light line, I would make sure with a digital.
I didn't do this with my first pregnancy though, I saw a line and that was it. As they all say, a line is a lline is a line. I just wasn't double checking that line lol

Re: digital vs. regular
Personally, I use the regular first and the digi for confirmation-this is because the digis are so expensive, you really don't want to waste them. HTH
