I started with the Gerber Puffs. He can pick them up but had a hard time getting them in his mouth. So, I'd put them in his mouth for him so he would get used to the texture. We also gave him Gerber teething cookies and Arrowroot cookes (get them in the cookie section at the supermarket). The cookies are easy for him to hold and he can eat the whole thing.

same for us. I never tried the cookies though. The only thing with the biter biscuits is, when it gets down to a certain size, I take it away b/c then she shoves the whole thing in her mouth

I'd suggest puffs and those hard cookies....just watch the cookies, like someone else said...when they get small enough to fit in her mouth, get rid of them.
No need to worry about teeth either...they can use their gums for chewing at this stage.Chat Icon

Just be careful with the biscuits though. DS choked on one b/c he has teeth and was able to bite a piece off after a while! I haven't given it to him since

i think puffs are the best thing to start with since they disolve so quick then i would move on to the biter biscuts.

I give puffs, biscuits and arrowroot cookies to Abby and she has zero interest. She PLAYS with the stuff but never put it in her mouth. I put it in for her and shes like "huh?"

Re: starting finger foods? 7 months

My DD has 2 teeth now and the teething biscuits are great but as they get all mushy she does get them in half and i have to take it away...i bought the puffs but havent tried them yet...this teething process has been such a nightmare for us as my DD is just so fussy and in pain half the time i cant get her interested..all she wants to do is chew on hard things..
