Diaper bag--what goes in it?

So I think I shouldn't bring one with me to hospital right? Cause everything is there?

I'm thinking of just putting stuff in it so when I'm home I don't have to scramble and think of what goes in there...

Anyone know?

This what I always have in my diaper bag

diapers
wipes
aquafor
Bib/burp cloths
change of clothes for DD
can of RTF formula (ready to feed formula) and bottle
Toys - to occupy DD when we are in a restaurant or something
Bottle of water for me
purel
receiving blanket

I usually don't. I have a Coach wristlet that I carry in the diaper bag.

You don't need one for the hospital, they will probably give you a Similac/Enfamil bag anyway.

For a NB I kept

diapers
wipes
diaper cream
changing pad
extra outfit
extra socks
formula
bottle
bottle of water
blanket
hat

You don't need toys or anything at this point, and I never brought a purse, just threw my cell phone/keys/wallet in the diaper bag.

I plan on bringing my diaper bag to the hospital empty as all I keep getting told is to take everything off the baby cart every time they fill it (even the nurses who taught our classes said to bring an empty bag)! So I plan on coming home with diapers, peri bottle, disposable bathing cloths, alchol wipes for cord and goodies!
