called the number. They asked me a bunch of questions about my son. Asked if he had the reaction. If I sought medical attn. etc.
They sent me a postage paid package and i sent all the clothes back that I had with those tags.
That was about 3 weeks ago. I got the check today.
I'm unsure if they will actually give you the money back if the clothes didn't cause a reaction. I suppose they wouldn't know either way. I could have given them the doctor's notes but they never asked. It was kind of an ongoing issue and we thought he had sensitive skin (and he does) because that is what the doc told me. Not necessarily because of the tags.
I called them and they never even asked if he got a rash or if I had to take him to the dr. They took my name and address and sent me the bag with the return label in the mail.
I just got off the phone with them, they did ask a ton of questions regarding the rash, time frame, location and wanted to know how many pieces of clothing are coming back. it was pretty thorough, I guess I got a regular on the phone.

how do they determine how much to give you? i have always wondered what i was doing wrong with both my kids... they always had/have a big red spot on thier backs...

 I just donated a boatload of Carter's stuff to Goodwill a few weeks ago. Jayden had rashes on his neck/back when he was younger but I also thought it was the excema

I was JUST thinking this too! I had a bunch of stuff I just donated but I also have some I saved for my sister that I will have to go through. I though my DD just had really sensitive skin! Go figure!

I can't believe this is what it was! DS is 20 mos and has had an almost permanent rash back there that was dismissed as eczema and now my ped finally has me taking him to an allergist this week. I always said it looked like a tag irritation but since his onesies are tagless i never thought they still could be the culprit. And I know they're saying it's only the old tags at this point but I swear the new ones are just as bad if not worse (we have lots of both).

this is crazy, josh had that red splotch on his lower neck/upper back on and off for such a long time. i still use those carters pj's in 3t and i just got them off ebay. i was so excited to find them too.
glad this came out now b/c my 2 month old ds would have gotten the same clothes my older ds wore and his skin is so sensitive.

You get full retail value regardless if it was on sale or not. For example if a pack of onsies is $20 (making it up) normally but you only paid 1/2 price b/c they had a sale it doesnt matter...you get full retail value.
You dont have to provide receipts or anything.

I also just donated or gave away most of DS baby clothing and half the box was probably carters 
Oh well...
I'm sure I have a ton more bc I still havent gone through all the boxes. DS does have a reoccuring rash on the back of his neck and he has been on/off antibiotics for it. i wonder if it was caused by these clothes???

Thanks for the link but doesn anyone know why it is so hard to find this page starting from "carters.com". I'm just curious as to why they don't make it easy for parents to find this refund page. I've told a few people about this and I told them to visit the carters website for more info but I'm afraid they will not find it. Looks like I have to send them this direct link.
Anyone know why this is?

I called their main contact # to confirm the advisory and ask them why I couldn't find it on the actual carters wepage. (I was paranoid thinking something was fishy)
The lady I spoke to was very nice. She said the advisory is a very old advisory and so they moved the page under a different section of the homepage it really is difficult to find it if you were starting from carter's.com. She gave me the direct link which is the link in this thread. She said it's legit and they are still taking clothing back.
Now I called and they did not ask me a lot of questions and I want to say I probably spent a total of 3 minutes on the call. All they asked was
1. How many items did I have from the fall 2007 collection. (this so they can determine the size return bag to give me)
2. Did my child have an allergic reaction or was I just being cautious (on returning the clothes)
3. Where/how I heard about the advisory.
4. They asked for my home address to send the return bag.
Then they explained the process and how long it will be until I receive the check in the mail.
The lady I spoke to was very nice.

I have no idea how much I have, I have packed it all away, and will have to go through it. My question is, I would be sending it back as a precaution, because I am saving it for baby #2. Yes they will take it back. A friend of mine called and said she is not comfartable using the clothing on her second (she is due in a couple of months) even though her 1st did not have a reaction. This left her not satisfied with the clothing and if you look at the page that is what they are saying if you are not satisifed with the clothing you can return it for a full refund. They did not question her further I think that's why they ask did your dc have a reaction or are you just being cautious. I think they just want to know for their own records. I was told by Carter's (when I called this morning) that this was not a recall, it was an advisory and it was up to you if you wanted to return the clothing.
Also as far as two piece outfits (I had a few) if you were happy with the pants those you will find are not tagless they have the actual tag sticking out you can keep those and just return the top. They will issue a refund at 1/2 the price since you are keeping 1 out of the two.

No, when I called they specifically went over what the tagless shirts will look like. It must be the solid square whitish looking logo. It's about an inch and a half long 1"wide. There are pictures of what it looks like on the web link posted in this thread.

I'm sure Carters is wondering why all of a sudden there are all of these cases in Long Island after all these months

OMG seriously thank you sooo much..
I have twin boys born in Aug 2007.
So everything has those tags.. My poor lil guy they diag with psoriasis wonder if thats what it was ? Thank you sooo much.. Wow cant wait to see what I get..
