Can we talk Sleep Positioners?
I am hearing a couple of different things about these.
I had a one on the registry but was wondering if I should switch it to a specifically recommended one or not have one at all.
Your thoughts please!

Re: Can we talk Sleep Positioners?
i would wait until the baby is born to see if he needs it or not. they're all very different. the one was got had a fake heartbeat in it and was very "snuggly". it's what let us get sleep the first few weeks DS was here--he wouldn't sleep without it!
IMO, there's no reason to get one unless your baby needs one.

They are not recommended by the AAP so I would not register for one at all.

Re: Can we talk Sleep Positioners?
Two different peds actually recc. them to me to use. My DS had reflux and he slept on the positioner with an incline on his side and this is the ONLY way he would sleep in his bassinet or crib. He also had the most perfectly shaped head from not being on his back all the time. For us the positioner was a godsend. But, it depends on your DC!

i did not register for one. Most pediatricians and nurses don't recommend them as they can be another SIDS risk. Although young infants cannot roll over, they still squirm and shift in their sleep.

I used one until pretty recently with DD. She is 4 months old and we stopped using it maybe 3 weeks ago or so.

I would probably wait. We have one for #1 and never used it! We tried...he hated it!

Re: Can we talk Sleep Positioners?
i'm pretty sure you're not supposed to get the ones that have the fabric going straight through. we got the air flow/breathable ones. but you're supposed to put it pretty far down their body i thought. maybe im wrong
