I'll go in and lay her down in a few minutes I guess. Any help/suggestions?!

Re: anyone officially do CIO after a year?
We tried CIO at 5 months and totally failed and for a lot of reasons, decided to do it again when DS turned one.
The biggest thing with us was that we could NOT go in, it just made him more upset. We had to put him in the crib and RUN (kidding. Sorta )
He is a great sleeper now, loves his crib and can put himself to sleep now, but CIO did work for us when he was older

I wish I could help, we had the same problem, my DS would ALWAYS cry as soon as we would walk out the door, and I would always go right back in, and do everything u listed. He's 11 months and he has gotten better when we walk out of the room, but he still wakes often throughout the night and he just cries, I try to wait 10 min, like my pedi told us to do, and see if he goes back to sleep on his own, OMG the crying feels like FOREVER especially at 3 AM, I HATE it!!!! sometimes he goes back down, sometimes I have to go back in, I don't pick him up, I lay him back down, and rub his face alittle and then leave the room, sometimes he springs back up and starts crying , sometimes he'll lay there and either he'll go back to sleep or maybe 20 min. later he starts crying again, and then I lay there wait another 10 min, and do the same thing over again... It's so tiring!!! Especially wen we have to get up for work.... I know how u feel, I hope this changes real soon, b/c I also have another on the way in October!!!!

Same here...word for word...timeline for timeline.
When we did CIO after one year he cried 45 minutes the first time and then went down. The second night was about 15 minutes I think and after that he gave up...5 minutes top to test us.

Yes the crying is heart breaking. Trust me, my son can cry for hours... no joke either.
But as they get older, they learn how to manipulate more and more. They learn quick on how to get what they want, when they want it.
So she may be getting at that stage and you have to stand your ground. For us, going in was not an option. He would cry harder and louder and then the clock would start over.
I wish my son was one of those kids that could play nicely in his crib before falling asleep or after he wakes up. But NOPE, he's not.
Hang in there. It's hard, but it works. Don't sit there and listen to it. Go do laundry, go do the dishes, make dinner, vacuum... anything you can possibly do not to listen to it. That makes it 10 times worse in my opinion when you're sitting there listening and staring at the monitor.
