Scheduling DR. appt long
So DH and I have decided we would like to start TTC next month. I am a teacher so I would like to try to get pregnant with a late spring/ summer baby. We are probably joking ourselves with trying to plan out an arrival month. So last year when I had my yearly appointment we weren't sure when we would begin trying. At that point the wedding was number one on my mind. Fast forward to this year the dr. office apparently forgot to send out a reminder card and when I remembered the wait is now 3 months. What should we do? Do we really have to wait to start trying until I can meet with my dr.? I have scheduled my yearly check up with the nurse practicioner for early July.

You don't have to wait until you meet with your Dr. I would go out and buy some prenatals though. I take the Target brand and my Dr. said they were ok.

Did you tell them why you wanted to come in? Alot of doctors put the annuals at the bottom of the list (unfair, but true). Call back and tell them you want to speak to the doctor about TTC and if they can get you in sooner. OR if there are any cancellations. Honestly- if they can't fit you in, i would find another doctor with a shorter wait time.

We didn't wait. I just started taking prenatals a few months before we started.

I just went to the doctor for my annual and she said to start taking a multi-vitamin with at least 400mcg of folic acid 3 months prior to starting.
