what to put newborn to bed in?

i'm having all kinds of hot/cold flashes since delivery and can't rely on how i feel to dress dd. how are you dressing your newborn (she's 2 weeks) for bed in 70-75 degree weather? if it matters she was 5lbs 12oz at her last dr's appt (not sure what she is now) tia!

We try to keep the room at 68 to 72-- which is the ideal temp for babies.

We have always dressed her in a short-sleeved onesie, with a sleep gown usually converted to feet-- so the feet are out, with socks on. Plus, she is swaddled.

We need to put the air on in our apt-- today, it was like 79 degrees in here when we didn't have the AC on, so I assume that we will continue to dress her like this through summer-- until she grows out of her gowns.

Does your house stay warm throughout the night or get chilly? I know DS's room can be cool in the morning.

I would say maybe a long sleeve one piece cotton pj or maybe a long sleep onsie if you swaddle her.

We kept DS in a onesie and a gown with the elastic at the bottom. It was about the same temp outside, maybe a little warmer when we brought DS home in Sept of 07. He was fine in that. Plus, gowns make diaper changes in the middle of the night way easier, than undressing a newborn, lol.

I would think a short sleeve onesie and a light weight swaddle.

tonight should be cool so I would say lightweight feety PJs and a swaddle.
