How old was DC when you first flew with him/her?

How was the experience? Miserable? Tolerable?

DS loves being in the car. I doubt he would be sound asleep through a 5 hour plane ride though.

4 months was the first time - he was amazing and slept.

It gets much harder as they get older.

Abby will be 10 months when we fly. It gets harder the more independent and more mobile they become.

With each trip it became slightly harder - but it's not impossible - you just need more things to entertain and occupy DC.

I flew with Jack at 4 months,
9 months, 12 months, 13 months and this was to Italy.

The younger they are the easier it is. Each time did get progressively harder but not bad that it would ever stop me from traveling!

DS will be 5 months when we fly with him for the first time.

DD will be 9 months when we fly with her in July.. I'm hoping it will all go well :)

DS was 6 months the first time we flew. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! We gave him a bottle of milk during take off and landing. During the flight he either slept or tried chatting with other passengers. On our return flight, the flight attendants enjoyed his company and passed him around!

I flew transatlantic with my son when he was 4 months old, it was pretty easy. I have an easy kid anyway, but it is easier when they are little

10 weeks. she was great!

DS flew just last week (3 months). He was an absolute screaming lunatic on the way to NY (1 1/2 hr flight). On the way home I gave him tylenol and he was a charm. He slept, played and laughed the whole way home.

We flew to Florida with my DS when he was 3 and a half months and he was great. He slept most of the flight. I was expecting it to be a lot worse.

7 months and it was tolerable, actually pretty good. I think before they learn to walk or crawl is a good time--once they start moving and sleep less, it gets harder.

4 months and then 8 months. She was a dream both times...didn't sleep the entire time but she was just her normal, happy (albeit active) self. I'm sure once she starts walking full time, travel will become more trying.

Less than a year (she wasn't walking) and she slept the whole time (it was 2 hours). Because she wanted to crawl around, the wait in the airport was worse than the flight.

We've done a few flights since then and she has been fine, though now that she can walk it has gotten harder as she doesn't want to sit still on the plane.

About 14 months - 5 hour flight. He was really good, but it is very tiring. He slept taking off and slept landing. When he was awake, gave him lots of food/drinks and tried to keep him entertained. Let him walk around the plane. People are nice and understanding.

We've flew with DS when he was 3 months, 8 months and 15 months. By far the 3 months was the easiest, but none of them were terrible.

We are flying again in July, hopefully it will go well!

10 mths old...and she was really good.

As they get older its tougher.
We flew again this past March and she was def more difficult.

DD was 7 months old. The flight going was great, it was early and she slept.

Coming home was not as good. There were delays-long times of just sitting on the plane and waiting, she got very restless.

My sister took my niece to Vegas 2 days after she got her first shots.

we flew with Jacob when he was almost 1.5..he cried the whole time on the plane...both ways

Andrew was 29 months old and was great. I hate to fly so that is why he was older He sat there the entire time to FL and watched his movies, ate and slept. He was a dream to fly with. Me on the other hand

We've flown with DS at 3 mos (me and DH), at 4 mos (just me) and at 9 mos (me and DH).

Honestly, the younger they are the easier they are. Don't underestimate the lull of the engine noise and the pressure. Mention it to your ped - ours gave us some numbing ear drops to give to Colin at landing so the ear popping wasn't an issue. Other than that, no problems.

Attempting it now at 15 mos... not really my idea of fun
