Mommies who wear contacts...did you break the rules.....
and wear them during the delivery? With my 1st DD I wore my glasses and couldn't stand it......this time I plan to say nothing and keep my contacts in. Is it a big deal?

The first time the nurse asked me and I took them out. This time they did not and I kept them in. It was much easier with them in. I had a c-section both times.

hmmm, good questions? i feel like i had to take them out, but looking at pictures, im not wearing glass, and there is NO way that i would have been able to have seen anything w/o them so im guessing they let me keep them in!

I had vaginal deliveries with both and no one even asked if I wore contacts, etc. I wore them and was fine. I delivered at St. Charles both times.

they didn't care at all. there was no rule about it--i wouldn't have taken them out even if there was a rule because i'm blind without them. i had a vaginal birth at south nassau

When we took lamaze I specifically asked if I would be allowed to keep my contacts in. The nurse said they don't ask you to take them out.
On the day of my delivery they never asked me and I wore my contacts the whole time.

Same here. They never asked me and I think I recall asking them and the nurses saying it was fine to keep them in.

They had originally told me I'd have to take them out... then they brought me to the OR rather quickly and I realized I still had them in... they told me it wasn't a problem!

I delivered both naturally and via c-section for DS and DD and wore my contacts both times. Both were delivered at Good Sam.

no one said to take them out, but I was in labor for 19 hours, and took them out to sleep.. didnt put them back in until recovery... I saw everything with my glasses.... and looking at the pics.. I was a sight to be seen in my glasses and going through 19 hours in that hospital bed...
