Has anyone else had changes with AF since stopping BC pills?
So I just had my 2nd AF after two cycles without BC pills, and both times AF was much shorter and lighter than usual.
Before BC pills (7 years ago) AF would always last about 5-6 days and be moderately heavy. On BC, it was about the same. The last 2 AF's I have had only lasted 2-3 days, and were very light.. more than spotting but definitely much lighter than normal for me.
I wonder if my body is still just adjusting after being on BC? Just curious to see if any one else has had a wacked out AF after BC pills, and if it went back to normal, or continued to be different than what you were used to.
Thanks!

Re: Has anyone else had changes with AF since stopping BC pills?
i was on the pill for just about 12 years....
BEFORE being on the pill - my periods were dreadfully heavy (changing a THICK pad 2-3 times a day) and HORRIFYINGLY painful (due to my ovaries being covered in cysts they claim). I would literally lose all my color every other month and just lay on the bathroom floor in a ball, crying.
the pill changed that - took away the pain and apparently shrunk most of the cysts. my period while i was on the pill was wonderful...much like you described. 2-3 days (if that) of LIGHT blood (i'd never need more than a light days pad)....and maybe a day or 2 of spotting.
AFTER i came off the pill....my period did NOT return to being as bad as it was prior. Yes - i bled more - needed regular, boring old pads again, but the pain didn't return and neither did the HEAVY flow...i was grateful honestly!
hope this helps in some way!

I had heavy irregular periods before going on the pill. On the pill (for 7 years), I had lighter, shorter periods with a normal cycle.
Once going off the pill - I had irregular periods again. They were light but, very long (a week of spotting and then a week of flow).

Not to steal your thread, when when did you get your fist AF after coming off the BCP. Today is CD 42 and nothing!

i was on it for ten years staring when i was 20. my periods since i started them were always heavy, sometimes irregular, and sometimes painful. they found a cyst on my ovary..nothing terrible but thats when i started BC to regulate things. My periods were a pleasure. 3-4 days, med-lite flow.
after i came off, they stayed that way. not nearly as heavy as they were before, and about the same in length. maybe a day longer here and there.
