Girl mommys ( over age 1)

What percentage of your DD's clothing is dresses/skirts ???

Of course since I now have a girl, coupled with the fact that I have a shopping problem Chat Icon , everytime I see something cute on sale in a bigger size I pick it up ...And ofcouse I lean towards the girly stuff (dresses etc..) Right now she still so mushy, so she wears pants and such much of the time, but once she's mobile, I would love to dress her up as often as I can while it lasts ..

Is it unpractical to have so much frilly stuff ?? I'm a SAHM, so I dont have to worry about having too much messy clothes to send to daycare etc...And I have bought pants/jeans also but cant resist the dresses...Talk me down Chat Icon !!!

Re: Girl mommys ( over age 1)

I bought more dresses for the spring because we want to start potty training and I think it will be easier. But sometimes when we are going to one of our activities, where she is all over the place, I get frustrated if all her pants are in the wash (she's petite so all her jeans slide off her butt Chat Icon ). I don't like to put her in a dress to be crawling around.

So....as long as you have clothes she can get down an dirty in when you need them....buy dresses too if that's what you love.

mine too..in the nice weather that is all i put her in, esp this year since she is on her way to potty training, figured it would make it easier for her.

For Fall/Winter I hardly ever buy dresses. The only time they wear dresses for those 2 seasons are Thanksgiving/Christmas eve and Day and NYE. Otherwise they wear jeans, stretchy pants etc.

Spring is mostly capri's and tee's and summer are mostly dress.

I bought LOTs of dresses this summer for Ayla for potty training.

DD has a few dresses but mostly, skorts, capris, shorts for the summer just because they are more practical. I should put her in dresses more often, but right now I do it mostly for occasions.

Re: Girl mommys ( over age 1)

I bought a bunch of dresses for Kaydyn for summer. The only time dresses were a problem was when she was crawling/cruising when she was down on the ground a lot..she would get caught on her skirt all the time. And if she's going to a playground, park...etc then I put her in pants because it's easier for her climb.

OMG DD has waaay too many pretty dresses, friend of mine works at an upscale kids store and gets DD all the nice designer dresses(that we could never afford, lol), I don't even think she can wear them all. She still has dresses from last year that she only wore for pics or just once , or I washed them and she never wore them (I wash everything before I put them on her)
I am going to post some on here sometime soon (before I post them on CL or other websites)

Re: Girl mommys ( over age 1)

In the winter I'd say 20% were dresses and skirts.

In the summer 75%.

Re: Girl mommys ( over age 1)

I love dresses...but don't have alot of them.

Before she could walk..it was pointless, because she couldn't crawl in a dress. Last summer, she had a few, but because she is always falling down, her legs are so bruised up, I think it looks silly with a dress Chat Icon

For this summer, I did buy a few so we'll see how it goes!

Less than 5%. I'm not a dress-my-girl-in-dresses kind of mom! She has a few sundresses for places we might go to this summer, but other than that, she is all t-shirts and shorts!
