I heard somewhere you need to wait til 6 months til it's safe to use on baby's skin..

What do you do on these sunny days? Sometimes getting their faces in the sun is just unavoidable.

Yep - 6 months

We had him shaded when we were in the sun - if they are in the sun for very short periods of time I'm sure that's ok!

As your Doc.

Mine okay'd suncreen and bug spray at 2 months old for both girls..shade is best, but if baby has to be in the sun, the benefit far outweighs the risk with possible sunburn.

We took DD to Florida when she was 4 months old for the first time (it was winter here). We asked the ped and he said that as long as it was "baby" sunscreen it was fine...but he followed up with a lecture on how she shouldn't be in the sun anyway so it didn't matter.

I should add that if your ped OK's sunscreen, get something both baby and as natural as possible... I read that many sunscreens, even ones for babies, contain some hideous chemicals... According to the cosmetics database, california baby has the least toxic/carcinogenic sunscreen that works well.....

My ped said that it was ok from day one. We were just in Florida with DS who will be 4 months this week and we used the aveeno baby SPF.

Where do you find California Baby locally? Or is it just online?
