Re: Fun under 50

What kind of stuff do you like to do?

There are tons of things tons of great things to do outside, like, miniature golf, batting cages, golfing range, hiking, biking, walking the board walk, picnics in a park, taking a walk across the Brooklyn bridge then getting a slice of pizza.

If you are not so much for the outdoors, I love museums. They are not too much money, and some of them have free days once a month. Then you can pack a lunch at have it at the park. I like going to bow bridge, (that is where DH proposed) or the Alice In Wonderland statues.

Hope that helps!

I'll try anything once, and then go from there. This is more to get ideas for weekends with DH. He is a HUGH movie buff and would be content to continue going to the theater every weekend for the rest of our lives.

I've suggested bowling & mini golf for 6 years, and only recently has he said he'd be up fpr mini golf. He is so not the type to apple or pumpkin pick or go visit Old Westbury Gardens & The Brooklyn Botanical which is sad because I LOVE that stuff.

DH would never go to a museum with me unless DC comics or Marvel had an exhibitChat Icon.

street fairs! we loved going to those in NYC when the weather gets warmer.

farmer's market

movies

it's different for us because we live in San Diego... we love going to the beach, having a picnic, going on little daytrips to like newport beach, laguna beach, etc... we go to the farmer's market pretty often and it's fun to just look around and buy some yummy fruits, veggies, breads, etc and then cook with them that night! you can go out for lunch instead of dinner to save a little money, cook/bake something together, go to a cooking class (williams sonoma has free ones!), mini golf, bowling...

sometimes we'll just get a french baguette, a wedge of brie and some other cheeses, and a bottle of wine and hang out at home and/or watch a rented movie.. KWIM?

i'm all about the little things!

there's an indoor go-kart place in suffolk county that may be under the range you're looking to spend out.

how about plays, as in live theatre. there are several small community theater's all over the island & small ones in the city, off-off bway. it's like a live movie ;)

comedy shows like governors, if you keep the drink minimum to a couple of soda's ;)

a visit to the wineries can run for less than 50.

a walk through central park can be like watching a movie too. so many interesting things going on during the weekends on all ends of the park. eat a dirty water hot dog, sneak into the museum of natural history. visit the boathouse for some afternoon tea overlooking the lake!
