Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
how do you do it!?! I cannot imagine feeling like this and having a child to care for. I'm 11 weeks and have been sick since my 7th week. I literally cannot even function after 4pm everyday. God Bless you girls

I feel I have it a lot easier than some other 2nd time moms.... my DD is 7, so she is actually a really big help. I will be honest though.... I am in bed at the same time she goes down at night. lol

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
I teach middle school full time and have a 21 month old so I am a lot of the time
When I was preg with I came home, put my feet up, napped...oh the good old days.
Honestly, I do less. We have a cleaning lady, we eat a lot more take out DS is now an Elmo fiend and I am not big on tv for kids. Shrug...we make it work.
In some ways though, this preg is flying by because I am less focused on it and so busy keeping up with DS.
Heck, women have been doing this for millions of years

Luckily I haven't felt too sick, and I nap when Ryan naps, so it hasn't been too bad.

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc

with me... i rest a lot... DS is ASD so he has ABA therapy, speech & OT at least a total of 2 hours a day, on top of his 2 1/2 hour nap.
so i get to rest 4 - 4 1/2 hours a day, feet up and what not. my DH manages the morning and he puts DS to bed at night.
granted its rough esp when tantrums are being thrown, and melt downs happen, but you just do it.
DS is 20 months old but mentally about 9-12 months.
when #2 is born he will be in school for 2 1/2 hours, he will have therapy before school and after school, so it will be somewhat easy.

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
The first couple of weeks were a bit rough with the exhaustion, but I'm feeling great now and don't even feel PG, so that makes it easier running after a toddler.
DD is really good and easy even though she's got so much energy.
You just do it day by day, KWIM?

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
I have been sick for seven weeks now - basically starting at 3 in the afternoon - and it just gets worse. Some days I just lay on the couch and he plays around me. It's really really hard but you just do it since you really don't have a choice! When I was pregnant with him I didn't have to do anything besides watch A Baby Story!

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
this is why my kids are almost 5 years apart. i needed my older one in full day preschool, and we had someone here to help after school until daddy got home. there wasn't anything else i could do. i was on disabiity for my entire 1st pregnancy and would have been the second time if i had a job to get disability from.

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
I feel pretty crappy for a few days at a time, and then perfectly normal. Plus I work about 45- hrs a wk and commute 3 hrs a day on top of that. Luckily DH is amazing - he cooks every night, takes care of DS and the house and is very good to me (and tries not to take offense when I bite his head off for nothing )

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
This is my third and I am really tired. The first trimester was a horror and torture for me. I have a three year old and one year so it is very challenging and I have good boys. I guess you just do it because you have to.

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
As the pp stated- you just do it. If you stop to think about it, that's when you get into trouble. DD will be 2 in May and she is pretty independent. There are times when it seems like she won't be happy until she actually crawls in my skin which is tough, but you get through it.

DS just turned 1 on Monday and he's a handful! You just push yourself because someone is depending on you. This pregnancy is a lot more difficult than my first, but I keep telling myself it'll all be worth it in September!

Somehow your body provides just enough energy for you to do it. I was working FT and taking care of a 2 year old and managed okay. That doesn't mean when the day was over I wasn't absolutely exhausted but I did it.

Ditto. You do what you have to do is what it comes down to. DS is 14 mos and alllllll over the place, I'm working 50-60 hrs a week and this pregnancy is far more difficult than my last. Not thrilled with it, but it's a means to an end

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
Honestly? If Johnny hadn't had school in the mornings I don't know how I would have gotten through my first trimester..I was pretty sick on and off and I would drop him at school and just SLEEP.
DH has been a huge help too but he always is...I call him my maid
It is definitely harder to go through when you have a baby already!!

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
I am on my 3rd. My boys will be 4 and 2 this month. I have bad morning sickness through my entire pregnancies.
Sadly work is my salvation (I work full time) It gives me a chance to have some me time!
I am in bed by 9:00 every night and am definately exhausted.

Re: Girls that are pregnant with their second..third..etc
I remember how much I could indulge myself during the first pregnancy-sleeping, napping, putting my feet up, etc. I worked right up until the end, however outside of work I could pamper myself. Having DD makes that impossible this time around-I don't know how you get through months 7-9, I just cannot imagine chasing a toddler around that far along
However, I just think about how many women do it and figure it will work out somehow. I will say, DH is less doting of me this pregnancy too
