I had asked about this early in my pregnancy when it was Thanksgiving and I was told it had to be cooked very well.

My just keep in mind it is very salty.

No, not really - as it's cured, not cooked. But I've had quite a bit! Chat Icon Chat Icon If you're having it in a meal where it's been cooked, then it's fine.

sadly, no! this is the one Italian meat that this Irish girl has come to love and DH's famiyl onyl buys the best!!! you can only eat it if ti's cooked and then what's the point... cooked prsciutto is disgusting!

I used it in food I made the other night but I heated it up so I am hoping that it was ok...I love prosciutto!

This thread is making me crave my favorite sandwich from my favorite restaurant in RVC - Blue Moon. They make a proscuitto and fresh mozzerella panini with basil and olive oil served with red pepper dipping sauce.
